The Boards, Wednesday Evening - Rehearsals

"This week," Jono said, once it looked as though everybody who was going to show up for rehearsals had shown up, "we're going to be working on blocking for act one. I know that's only a handful of you- Lane, Algernon, Jack, Lady Bracknell, and Gwendolyn. Up on the stage with you five. The rest of you, that's Chasuble, Merriman, Cecily, and Miss Prism, please work together on memorizing your lines."

He gestured to a spot in the audience seating that looked like a convenient enough place for people to sit and read their scripts.

"I'd like everybody to be off-book next week. Especially since spring break is coming up the week directly after. Speaking of, because we've only got a couple of weeks before the performance and I'm certain I'm going to lose most of you to whatever... thing... is going on over the break, I've been thinking of having an extra rehearsal on the evening of the third of March - that'd be the Sunday directly after whatever trip the school might have planned for you. That'll give us an opportunity to do blocking on the third act before dress rehearsal that Wednesday, and show night on the eighth. Any objections?"

He waited a moment for anybody to speak up, and then gave his hands a clap.

"Right, then. Get yourselves sorted out, and let's hammer out act one."

Demon Marcus, Wednesday

There was a dance coming up, as well as Valentine's Day proper, so naturally there were Valentine's Day inspired looks all over the store today to lure in the last-minute shoppers in need of fancy clothes with which to either impress their dates, or snag one in the first place. Demon Marcus didn't judge your date status, they just wanted you to buy something. And Jeremy was even around to help out!

At least whenever he wasn't in the menswear part of the store looking at suits. Mmm, suits. He didnät have a date, either, but he was still wondering if a red suit was something to buy.

Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

With tomorrow being Valentine's Day, the DJ was playing a medley of romantic songs. Because who didn't enjoy that?

Other than Derek. Derek didn't count.

As evident as Derek was attempting to plug his ears to avoid all of this stupidity. He never wanted to hear one more Marvin Gaye song in his life.

The Perk, Wednesday Afternoon

Natalie had chosen to put in an appearance in town today, for once somewhere other than the theater. (Although she was actually going there later for rehearsal.) She'd been by the post office earlier to check if her bow had come yet (nope), and since she'd already been in town, she'd decided to spend a while at the Perk. Also, she was a realist, and knew she'd probably be hermiting it up tomorrow, and maybe even Friday. If she didn't just end up hightailing it off the island completely. So it was probably good to show her face somewhere today.

Of course, the barista had insisted on putting tiny heart-shaped marshmallows in her hot chocolate, and the sound system was playing love ballads. So Natalie was starting to suspect this hadn't been the greatests choice.

But the marshmallows were still pretty tasty, and her European history textbook distracted from the music.

Jessica was hard at work today. On what? Sorry, not telling. It was a secret and you didn't get to know.

Frankly, it wasn't that cool or anything. And knowing what it was wouldn't change anything. But sometimes secrets had to be kept just for the hell of it. And that's what she was doing right now. As far as anyone could tell.

The shop was open, though!
