She'd cashed her first paycheck last Friday, but Éponine had never had that much money in her life before and to tell the truth honestly had no idea what to do with it. Granted, a good chunk of it had gone toward food and alcohol, and maybe she was being a little too reckless with her spending just because the idea of being able to expect more money this week was such a novelty that it had gone to her head a bit, but some habits were hard to break. Still, she'd even managed to get herself a new set of clothes, and a pair of shoes that fit.

That was surreal enough, still, that as she went about the post office sorting packages and making sure supplies were in stock she kept stopping to poke at the sleeve of her own coat, or stare down at her feet, just to make sure she wasn't imagining things. (It was hard to tell, sometimes.)

The five-franc piece she'd never spent was still in her pocket, though, and every now and then she'd take it out and turn it over in her hands a few times, humming distractedly, before putting it away again.

Mary was hard at work paying bills today. The hotel's electricity and water bills looked totally reasonable, but she couldn't understand why the food bill was so high. Then she remembered Gunther's request last week for caviar, and she wanted to bash her head against the wall. "Please tell me he's not serving caviar on the baked potatoes like he said he would," she groaned before heading to the kitchen.

Victor was still in an amazing mood after the trip to Turkey, and flying with jetpacks in Professor Solo's class yesterday had ensured the good mood would continue. He checked things around the shop, and -- once he was certain there were no rush orders and no fruit in a place he needed to clean out -- opened one of the higher-end shop computers to a modeling program. Building a jetpack that could counter his magnetic nature and dense frame from scratch was going to be a challenge, and he wasn't even sure he could do it. But it sure seemed like it might be fun to try.

[OOC: Open shop.]

While Kitty was still missing Turkey, she'd had a project to finish up in the last couple days that at least distracted her from the "wah, why am I not on vacation" feeling. She'd spent earlier today moving the equipment onstage back a bit and installing the vents designed to quietly suck up air in the ceiling above the stage. That would suck up the air there- and hopefully with it, zombie smell- and occasionally spritz the zombies with Febreze.

Might as well see if the commercials were all just a pack of lies, right?
