"Pretty sure you're not supposed to be hiding inside that thing, guys."

It was a nice, normal day at Dite's. Sparkle was surrounded on all sides by sex paraphernalia, the cock was wearing a pretty sun hat and shades today, and there were squirrels tucked away in nooks and crannies around the store.

Or, rather, a very particular nook.

"Seriously, though. Those are the Japanese imports. They're not even cheap. How are we supposed to display those if they're covered in... like... pikachu cooties?"

He idly unwrapped a dick-shaped chocolate pop and bit then end off, staring at the weird squirrel things suspiciously.

"Is that even hygienic? Can we even sell those things now?"

Yep. A totally normal day.

Town Hall, Friday Morning

He'd had a good run here at Fandom. A really good one.

But to all things came an end. Living in Baltimore had drawn Cable further and further away from the island. With Wade's help, he'd found ways to fortify their position that still complied with this baseline Earth's laws-- ways to keep Jan safe until she could do what had to be done.

Honestly, if he thought about it now, keeping ties to Fandom was downright irresponsible. It would be a great deal harder for their enemies to find them if they stayed away from multiversal hubs.

And so today he came back to Town Hall to make preparations, gather his things, and put the last hand to his plan to net Fandom a mayor worthy of its eccentricities. He left messages for a few people - on island and off - packed items into a few boxes. Switched off a few safeties. Destroyed a few (but not all) of his files.

This era was ending. He was, as always, prepared for the next.

Tiny was behind the bar, experimenting with drinks that did not include rum.

Allie was keeping an eye on the door, ready to check IDs as needed.

They were both ignoring the teal deer lurking in the corner. Sometimes it was better not to question things.

Tino was looking pretty wary of everything tonight. It may have had something to do with the teal deer that had wandered in, carrying a pen and a notebook, and was refusing to leave. Clearly it was feeling a bit optimistic about how busy the night would be.

Mike was dividing his time between laughing at Tino's doomed attempts at shooing the deer out the door with a broom, and reading up on fancy jelly shots. There hadn't been enough parties lately.
