Well, it had cost him a day and a night's work - most of which had actually been devoted to finding and destroying every bug in the building - Ron could step down off his ladder and see it was Good. The old sign declaring it 'Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center' had been taken down, supplanted with a homemade wood-and-metal sigh proudly reading FREEDOM ARMS, and nothing else.

On the ground, beside the entrance, there now stood a towering wooden sculpture of an eagle, wings spread. Anyone entering the store would now have to deal with the eagle wing that hung right above the opening.

Ron had also considered adding some American flags to the entrance, but that could be considered overkill.

Satisfied with his work, he went back inside, sat down behind the desk, and ate his bacon.

"Bad news," Lizzie announced once everyone had filtered in. "You're all dead."

She'd give them a minute to adjust to their mortality while she sipped some coffee. Mmm, coffee.

"How did you die? That's up to you. Today's game is called Voices from Heaven. You're all lined up outside those pearly gates, waiting for your turn to get in, and you're going to strike up a conversation with the person next to you. That person and you happened to die together, and you have a few rounds to explain to the audience how that happened."

She flipped a hand. "It could be that you were on your way to work and someone else ran you down with a car, but that doesn't really explain how your new friend, the car's driver, also ended up here. The point of this exercise is for you and the other person to start at separate points and weave a fun backstory together. Start by explaining what you were doing, or where you were, earlier today, just before your impending death, and see where the story takes you. Remember to always say yes, and more importantly, to say 'yes, and.' Think you can handle it?"

She sure hoped so. This independent study write-up wasn't going to write itself, and she was running dangerously low on coffee.

In case you were not aware, Easter was right around the corner. William was aware, naturally, but all the same there was a white rabbit on the counter of the store when he opened it up for the day.

William looked at the rabbit. The rabbit looked at William. There was an awkward pause. Then, the rabbit hopped down to the other end of the counter, leaving behind...

A foil-wrapped egg?

Further investigation yielded it to be a chocolate egg, filled with some sort of fondant.

That cannot be sanitary, JARVIS commented.

"Agreed," William said, setting aside the egg and watching the rabbit carefully. Sure enough, another egg soon joined the first.

Happy almost-Easter?
