It wasn't that Sparkle was avoiding life, at this point. Sure, last week, you probably could have accused him of that. After all, he'd run off to Nar Shaddaa with Atton, had spent a week getting messed up on Juma Juice and had somehow managed to stow away on a transport to Ord Mantell with a half-dressed alien dancer on either arm. That, if he was called on it, and probably pushed about it, he might even cop to as being a good touch of running away.

This week? He was totally not running. Hell, he was kind of feeling better about things, even. So what if he'd brought Velcro with him to Dite's to keep him company?

And so what if he'd placed the kitten on top of the giant metal rooster and was now snickering to himself about how Velcro was totally riding it bareback? Sometimes, horrible dirty puns were an excellent way to pass the time, thank you, and if anyone had a problem with it... well... Screw 'em.

If anyone needed Sparkle, he was going to pass the time by throwing a ball-gag around for his cat to chase. No, he probably wasn't going to put that one back on the shelf when he was done. Probably.

There were, for some reason that Alec couldn't glean from the invoice, a weird amount of hunting traps at the store today.

While there were many reasons that Alec had initially been interested in working at this store, the prospect of categorizing beaver, skunk and bear traps was not one of them. In fact, as hypocritical as it was given that he not-so-regularly fought demons, he was finding the whole experience a little creepy.

Especially the squirrel traps. And he was pretty sure the intrepid journalist who was reporting on him today felt the same way. Ick.

Ah yes, the new flock of students and faculty was almost upon them, and break was almost over. Clearly it was time for Sarah to actually make it out of her apartment for what may have been the first time this week. Shitty reality TV rerun marathons could be an addictive thing, you know.

Also, she was really lazy.

But hey, she was out now. Having a cup of tea and a muffin half the size of her head, and wondering whether she should take the weekend to visit London instead of pretending to be interested in the new people at the picnic. Really, they were all going to be the usual, anyway. Plus she was going to meet most of them eventually, and even if she wouldn't, it wasn't going to be a terrible loss for anyone.

But maybe she'd be too lazy to book a damn portal. She hadn't decided yet, and besides, she had a barista to wach right now. He'd finally started to suspect it was her who kept turning the espresso machine off every time he turned his back. He was side-eyeing her, and she flashed him an utterly fake smile.

And then turned the machine off with her voice again as soon as he wasn't looking.

Allie still had her nose buried in her phone alternating attempts at reading the Illiad with attempts at beating level 91 of Candy Crush. She honestly wasn't sure what was more frustrating.

Wisely Tiny stayed behind the bar reading up on summer themed drinks.

Mike was a little bit late for his shift tonight. Not enouh sleep, long day at a job on the mainland, and then a traffic jam, and then he'd still had to swing by the house to shower and grab some non-gross clothes.

Tino was not pleased.

Mike didn't care. He was just hoping he could make it through the shift without falling asleep in the back room or something.
