Fandom Post Office, July 30 (Tuesday)

Éponine's memory of the past several days was a bit sketchy on the details, but then again, you could say the same of a lot of what she'd been up to. Frankly, she couldn't decide whether to be annoyed with herself or annoyed with Fandom, but somewhere in the middle of all that annoyance was the odd sense of being slightly less conflicted about being here.

None of this was at the forefront of her mind today, though. Someone had dragged in a palletload of identical boxes that all needed to be shipped out to different addresses in multiple dimensions, and it was going to take all day to get them sorted and properly metered for postage.

She was grateful for the distraction, really. But glad she'd left her cat at home today.

It was back to black tank tops and the leather pants with the cutouts today, because Kitty had resigned herself to having a really terrible week and she kind of needed the badass feeling this sort of outfit came with. And while Kitty was having a terrible week, Tino had moved on to mourning the loss of the stripper pole, so there was mutual reason for tonight to be a drink experiment night. They'd just mix things together and try the results to see how it turned out.

It was rare that Tino ever made anything good. And that was also why someone should probably take Kitty's phone before Clint got any tipsy texts.

Luke's, Tuesday, July 30

It was painting day at Luke's. Bay left one of the kitchen guys in charge of the counter (with strict orders not to spit on anyone's food) and went back to some scaffolding she'd set up along a window-free wall of the diner.

She'd designed a mural of Flying Spaghetti Monster hovering over a surreal urban landscape made out of food -- an asparagus forest, hamburger houses, a river of maple syrup dotted with sugar snap pea canoes. Bay figured it was whimsical and diner-ish but not so cutesy it'd prompt sugar shock.

By the end of the day, she'd be spattered with paint but quite satisfied with herself.

Emma was starting to wonder if the universe was trying to send her a message, given that every time the island went strange she ended up in a relationship with another woman. At least being married to Rose had made some sense? At the time? And she wouldn't deny that Sam was rather adorkable...

Whatever. She was going to sit behind the bar and ignore everyone in favor of her stocks reports. Tiny could do the work tonight.
