Gert squinted at the kitchen staff. "Tuna? Really?"

They assured her that that was, in fact, what they wanted her to write on the specials board.

"I'm just saying, if it's another fish, we can put that," she pointed out. "I'm pretty sure shark is a delicacy."

The kitchen staff glanced at each other.

"Tuna," they insisted.

Okay then.
TODAY'S SPECIALS
Tuna

If you squinted, you might notice little tiny, very lightly written quotation marks around the 'Tuna.' But it could just be your imagination.

Jack had spent most of the weekend at Sookie and Bobby's wedding, and then staying in Louisiana for a mini-vacation afterwards. As a result, he'd missed the sharknado. But he was back exactly in time to spend much of his workday noticing how strongly the whole island stunk of fish and blood, and that Tiny was wearing a necklace made entirely of shark teeth.

He decided not to ask as he started doing an inventory check.

The DJ kept playing "Mack the Knife."

By the time he got home Sunday night, Hannibal had had quite some time to think, and he came to a few conclusions:

1. This was the most interesting his life had been in some time.
2. He hated to let good meat go to waste.
3. He rarely had a chance to openly kill and cook things that had displeased him.
4. He knew some very good recipes for shark.

He gathered his tools and utensils and headed back early, then stopped to speak with anyone he'd met previously to ask them to spread the word - there would be a dinner party just before sunset in the park. Cooking to happen just before that, if anyone cared to watch; butchering for some time before that, if anyone wanted to help.

[Open to everyone! Let's eat shark! Feel free to mod the dishes - if it's gourmet and sharky (or fishy and could be adapted to shark), he'd make it!]

Kenzi was still a raccoon. But that didn't stop her from going in to work. Because work amused her. Sharks, now, those would've stopped her from going anywhere. Because she was a tiny morsel.

Tino kept trying to spray her with the seltzer hose, but that didn't stop her from throwing peanuts at him.

On Sunday, Éponine had taken one look outside and immediately retreated back into her warehouse when she realized what was going on, so she had absolutely nothing to contribute to the other postal workers' shark-related gossip. (Alouette had benefited from the whole thing, though, since Éponine had made a deal with a sanitation worker and had a good supply of shark meat stashed in the refrigerator as a result. And no, she wasn't sharing that information with them.)

She had a book about ghosts -- someone had left an entire set of Time-Life volumes out on the curb for the taking and she'd helped herself to the entire set -- that she leafed through during the lulls in the day. It didn't scare her, really; she liked to think she had some things in common with them, anyway.
