Alec was doing inventory. Not that he thought that his employer cared at all about how many of each weapon they had -- he was fairly sure that as long as they actually made a profit, Mr. Swanson couldn't care less. And they were making a profit, so this was more for the sake of having something to do.

For one thing, he was pretty sure they had more rocket launchers than they needed. That was just a suspicion.

So, Priestly was now enrolled in real, actual, academic-type classes for the first time since, well, something like his sophomore year of high school. (Culinary school didn't count, okay? Though he would argue that pastry class should count as a chemistry credit, at least.) This meant he had real, actual, academic-type homework for the first time since early high school. And back then he'd been very good at coasting by without doing any of that homework. So things like worksheets and large amounts of reading were really pretty damn foreign to him.

Which would be why he's at the counter of Luke's right now, staring down at his "Accounting 101" textbook and trying to make it not just a swarm of incomprehensible numbers and letters.

Maybe he should have gone with "Air conditioning repair". It couldn't possibly be less complicated than this.

Sometimes, a guy had to go to work to just actually... work. There were shipments in at Dite's that needed to be marked down on the inventory sheets, and then sorted and priced and put out onto the shelves. A few things were set aside for a display near the counter on safe sex, and then there was cleaning to do...

Dite's was open, and Sparkle was actually doing his job, which unto itself was actually a pretty novel sort of thing.

[OOC: Rainy day revision blahs make for an uninspired post. Open, for as long as the electricity holds through tonight's storm.]

Tiny was paging through a copy of Cosmo someone had left behind the bar when Allie arrived. She was more then willing to leave him be, until he started moaning about failing the relationship quiz. At that point Allie confiscated the magazine for herself and settled in to read.

It was definitely interesting.
