Okay, as far as first holidays out of the country went? Italy had been awesome. But there was something to be said too for how returning home, to one's own bed.

... Scott wasn't going to dwell too much on the fact that he'd come to think of Fandom as familiar enough to feel like coming home. Yeah, he still missed Beacon Hills and not-future-Stiles and his mom and everything, but. Fandom was cool too.

He was, however, gonna be mildly entertained by the parrot who kept exclaiming "You're a bird!" to him anytime he passed by. Well, right up until he heard the bird mutter to himself, when Scott was just about out of earshot, "I'm a bird."

[ooc: yes, i stole post inspiration from a tumblr post. SO SUE ME.]

It started with a simple question.

One of the cooks asked Gert, upon her five-minutes-late arrival to the diner, how her vacation had gone. "The food was awesome," Gert replied, showing a picture she had taken on her phone of a particularly attractive plate of gnocchi.

Slowly the cooks began to frown. Then, a bitter remark from one of them: "We could make better pasta than that."

And now, the kitchen was a mess of flour as all of the chefs worked on creating the world's most delicious plate of pasta. Every time Gert turned to ask them what they were making exactly, she got the same sneering response from the cook who had originally asked her how Italy was: "Wouldn't you like to know?"

(She really did. She wanted to put it on the sign.)

Pretty much all Jessica had been doing since she got back from Italy was going in deeper on Roxxon. She really wasn't liking the fact that so many SHIELD documents were coming back to her redacted. The thought that SHIELD might be hiding something from one of their higher clearance agents about Roxxon really meant nothing good and you know what? She needed a break after coming to that conclusion.

And so Jessica went to the Perk, got some coffee, and focused on more local problems. Like when the glitter for Homecoming was going to arrive, and yes, that was a real concern, you guys did not understand how much glitter there was likely to be. Also, it's cheaper when you buy in bulk. Anyway, she was trying to get the tracking to work on that at the moment.

[OOC: Today sucks, but hey, I get to play. Oooopen!]

Jack got to the club to find it plastered with photos of gremlins and squirrels in fetching beauty-queen wigs. From the scribbles on the fliers, it seemed like they thought they were competing for "Homekumin Kwin."

Jack had to admit he had a soft spot for one especially ugly gremlin, whose flier photo showed a red satin dress, a curly black wig, and a smile full of terrible teeth. But to go by Tiny's t-shirt, he was firmly on Team Squirrel.

It promised to be a long night.

After a quiet week where he was TOTALLY IN HIS HOTEL ROOM THE WHOLE TIME, it was finally time for Bruce to open up an office here in Fandom. Not that it was like a month and a half overdue, screw you, RL. The furniture had been moved in over the last week, the name was on the door, and an attractive NPC temp secretary was at the front desk while Bruce settled into his office.

There was a sign in the front window listing "DEDICATED INTERNS WANTED. INQUIRE INSIDE." The NPC secretary would be happy to show you in. In the meantime, Bruce was going to do so much paperwork. That was the downside of starting a new satellite office.

[OOC: Open to visitors and people interested in working for a multinational, multidimensional charitable organization. The thought is that this would be an office job where people work with vague reports and deadlines, all to a vague charitable purpose. And the jobs pay well.

Shifts are available every weekday! C'mon, you know you want to pretend to work in an office while you're supposed to be working in a real office. Now in the right comm. Boy was I off on the first try.]

Kitty's internal clock was nicely screwed up, and what time she wasn't spending teaching (or running a movie, whatever) was spent in the office at Caritas, and by evening she decided to get some coffee and sit out at the park for some fresh air before it got cold.

Mostly, though, she was sitting and texting with Kurt. Whether it was that his fingers just weren't made for a phone keyboard or that Siri just didn't know what to do with his accent, she was getting some interesting replies back. And she was beginning to think he was totally doing this on purpose. The boy possibly needed a hobby.

[Nick told me to. Open!]

Cade's hair was still damp after syncronized swmming in teamwork class, which also explained why he was now watching YouTube videos of old Esther Wiliams routines and chortling to himself.

"This is the stupidest thing ever."
