Not that he'd admit it on pain of death or humiliation, but Doom's classes on AI and jetpacks had helped Victor figure something out. He'd always known his cyborg base allowed for the potential of flight, but he'd never been able to do more with the power than hover a few inches off the ground, or slow his velocity when he was already falling. But looking over the blueprints and code from Doom's class made him realize that if he tweaked things like so ... well, he wasn't going to be racing Karolina anytime soon, but even slow flying still beat walking.

He spent most of his time at the shop today with one arm hooked up to the most powerful hard drive in the shop, rewriting and testing code. He'd have a formal flight test as soon as he was satisfied.

[OOC: La la la trying not to contradict Avengers AI la la la. Open shop!]

There was a very hairy, very adorable chimpanzee named Paul in a cage in a closed-off room at the shelter today. April wasn't allowed to let anyone adopt him -- the chimp was just hanging out there for a day or two as part of a deal with Animal Control, just until they could put together the necessary equipment to house one of these guys on their own. The guys at Animal Control had been annoyingly vague about just why they had a chimp to take care of to begin with, and where this big guy had come from, but the fact was that Furnado had somehow managed to earn a reputation the place to go for tricky cases like this.

But damn, it was really freaking cute. April set up her phone in the room where Paul was and set it to record a video, then sat back down at the counter up front and watched the stream on her desktop.

What? Animal videos made everyone smile, shut up.

Rilla arrived bright and early after dropping Jims off at the daycare center, a hand crocheted bag full of pictures and knick-knacks for her desk over her arm.

She carefully placed the photograph of Walter in a place of honour, along with the snapshot Kenneth had sent in his last letter. He looked quite grown in it: it was hard to mesh that face (and his new promotion) with their night on the porch in Ingleside. She could be engaged to Ken, but being engaged to Captain Ford was quite another matter.

Decorating done, she sat down with the files Bruce had given her and a highlighter and began a list of pros and cons for each charity.

It was good to be busy.

The Wayne Foundation was open!

It was pretty but cooold outside when Kenzi got in, so hot drinks and food were demanded. Although the chefs pointed out they would've done it anyway.

SPECIALS
Borscht with sour cream
Mexican cocoa
Fresh sourdough bread with honey butter

Apparently the DJ had figured out what the fox says. Whether or not that was any of the noises from that ridiculous song...

Debatable.

Derek was just glad he didn't have to sit through that song one more time. Because he would have ended up throwing a bottle of vodka at the DJ. And he would not have been sorry about it.

At all.
