The Halloween decorations were gone, and it was otherwise a pretty slow night with Kitty trying not to think too hard about things. So she was behind the bar, going through an app on her phone and looking for holiday-themed drinks so she'd be prepared when they actually showed up.

Yes, she realized she was part of the holidays-come-earlier-every-year problem, and no, she didn't care as long as she found out whether Hanukkah-themed drinks existed.

Flick hadn't participated in any illegal activities since Italy. He almost felt out of practice due to the dormancy. But, he figured he had an excuse since he hadn't been able to move fast and would have probably gotten caught if he'd even tried to swipe something from even the slowest of the slow.

At this point in time, Flick was pretty sure he'd healed enough that he could get back to his regular, routine activities. His leg only hurt at certain moments and his arm was healed. The bruises were faded down to memories and he felt more like himself than he had in a few weeks. So, it was time to get back to normal.

Classes had finished for the day so Flick had headed into town, intent on starting small. Maybe a phone here and a wallet there, just small things to get him on track. He'd taken a seat outside the Perk, having ordered a coffee to make him look like just any teenager in town getting their caffeine fix.

He wasn't really any teenager. When people passed, he made a point to scan their person, their bags, seeking out familiar outlines and gauging how easy it'd be to just get up, grab and go. No lurking in the shadows today.

Flick had already been successful once which was why there was a fairly new phone sitting on the table next to his coffee covered in a bright pink phone case. He hadn't had a chance to look through it just yet. The case wasn't really Flick's style.

He took a sip of coffee and watched quietly.

[Open post. Talk to Flick, use the Perk, or lemme know if you want him to try and snag something from you, of course. I'm completing the trifecta of posts for this guy today]

As a general rule, bulk advertising mailers being processed through Fandom's post office were to be handled carefully. While, as rules went, this one seemed arbitrary and pointless, it really was there for a reason, and after carelessly tossing a bundle of dubious vacation-sweepstakes fliers into the wrong sorting bin along with a stack of postcards recruiting volunteers for a clinical trial, Éponine -- who emerged from the back room of the post office for the first time in about two and a half weeks, looking somewhat better rested than she had in possibly years -- could claim she spoke from experience if she ever had to explain that rule to anyone.

A lot of people might wonder what the point was of winning an all-expenses-paid cruise if the conditions required you to spend the majority of the time doing sleep trials, but while Éponine had no intention of making that sorting mistake again, the food had been good and they'd paid her $1500 for essentially doing nothing, so she wasn't going to complain.

The really nice thing about being the boss was that once you had some workers and the office was in no danger of falling apart because you were fabulously wealthy, it didn't matter if you were seen to be goofing off. In fact, it could even be seen as a good thing. Say, if you were putting a golf ball around the office and because your NPC secretary didn't mind, it might make you seem affable and not, for example, like a cape-wearing lunatic who punches people until all crime goes away forever.

Bruce had some workers. He had some work going on whenever he was at a desk. He had an office handling bigger concerns in Gotham. And right now, he had a gentle touch and was getting the ball in a cup with almost evey putt. And at sentence sounded horribly filthy until it stopped making sense because golf.

Anyway, the office was open.

[OOC: Open, but slow due to RL office, of course.]

Mary was having a nice, peaceful day of cleaning up around the lobby. She had wiped down the front desk, dusted all the end tables, and vacuumed the carpets. She was even hopeful that she'd get a chance to scrub the buffet, but then Gunther interrupted her with his latest scheme. Mary would spend the rest of the day trying to explain to Gunther that he couldn't simply change his name to Emeril and automatically get his own cooking show.

Evan was feeling pretty darn good on the job at the bookstore today. He'd put the new books out on a display, and then he'd gone around tidying up and restocking shelves. And now, because he was curious, he was looking up what books were coming out soon on the internet. New Pratchett was on the way, and new Robert Jordan, and...

... Mostly a bunch of kinda iffy-looking romance novels and some cookbooks. Evan tilted his head at the selection, and then made a note to just keep an eye out for the books he was interested in when they were finally released. Either that, or else start taking notes for a romantic dinner for Sholeh. Really, both options were a win.
