After last week's triumphant debacle, Jim was hoping that maybe this week would be a little less confusing. His concern hadn't abated but it was hard to do anything about it when the person he was concerned about didn't seem to exist anymore save for in his memories. It had to be the island. He'd been hearing voices and now Natalie was Nathan so something had to be going on. Jim had to think that way or he'd start feeling helpless and hopeless and no. Nope.

He was awake early, nursing a coffee in the Perk while he read through the newspaper. He didn't think a newspaper would help with anything but he wanted to be out of his room and away from the school for a bit. He wanted to unwind, stretch his legs and hopefully have some epiphany that might tell him what the hell was going on so he could fix it. He didn't know what he was supposed to do but he knew he could fix this. He just had to figure it out.

Somehow.

Stiles felt mildly guilty for not coming into work last week, so here he was on a Sunday. He wasn't really doing much in the way of work. Mostly he was looking up Oscar stuff and keeping an eye on the snowstorm that was supposed to hit Maryland.

Said snowstorm was totally the reason he was wearing a scarf right now. Yep. Totally for that reason and not because of a massive hickey he may have had on his neck.

Allie was browsing through various weather sites on her phone, comparing forecasts. It's not that the cold bothered her but even a vampire could get sick of snow after a while.

She also had a book and a large, fragrant coffee. It was a good way to spend an evening and if someone wanted to stop by and chat, that was even better.

Okay, today was a tiny bit weird. Weird in that way that Fandom was just prone to being, Sparks kept telling himself. Weird in that way that had him walking into the shop to the sound of numbers being read on the radio, interspersed by occasional chimes. Try though he might, he couldn't get the station to change, and actually unplugging the speakers didn't really do anything to stop it.

After a while, he could tone it out. But for most of the day he was going to slowly go stir-crazy, folding shirts from a shipment that had come in rumpled and putting them out for display. He was never going to get used to this island's weirdness. Ever. But he only had a year and some change left before his own graduation, and then it wouldn't matter any more anyway.

He'd... just keep telling himself that.

17... 73... 991... chime!

Jessica was kind of late by the time she got a portal back to Fandom, but that was the risk she ran with her job sometimes. Her, uh, other job.

But hey, she eventually got to this job and had a stack of watches to fix. Some of them didn't even seem to be broken. They just seemed to be... there. Weird.

[OOC: Would have been up earlier, but LJ was sucking when I was heading out to a movie.]
