It vaguely amused her that, even though she was not a student, the new semester had felt like a good time to switch to a new day. Perhaps change was in the air?

Rosalind mulled over that while she sipped her coffee and double-checked her latest order of books before submitting it.

Well, she supposed as far as changes went this one was fairly innocuous. She couldn't complain, even though Thursdays had been fine with her and the urge to change days had come upon her very... suddenly.

The shop was open and there was a sign outside that read:

Now hiring! Apply inside!

Mercy was happy to be back after having to spend the weekend with her mom and her mom's family. It's not that they weren't good to her, they were, but it was still a struggle to fit in and try to be normal.

Today she was experimenting with CDs she'd never heard before. Which meant that every so often one would stop abruptly in the middle of a song and be replaced by a new CD.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, Tiny was dressed in a serape and a sombrero while the DJ played mariachi music. Jack tried to tell them that was offensive stereotyping, but only got an eyeroll and a sombrero dropped on his head for his troubles.

He glowered from under the sombrero for the rest of the night. The sign outside the club read:

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
Special: Bottomless Margaritas
(as long as you don't annoy us.)

Jack felt that final comment added a nice touch.

Ron had spent the past few weeks doing what he loved best: working on furniture. He had crafted a second large wooden eagle to join the one that already stood right outside the shop. Now he was busy finishing up the new counters and display cases.

Nothing beat working with your own two hands, besides maybe replacing store-bought furniture with the sweat of your own brow.

It was time to install these new counters now. He hummed softly to himself as he worked.

Chilly Boulder was already spiking in sales with Ben back on the island. Today he was eating a banana split (bananas count as health food, right? Yes? Shush.) and waiting for Tahiri to join him, but he would be equally happy to see any other old friends or new students while he ate.

Mmmm, marshmallow topping and strawberry sauce. Ben had missed this.

Once again, Jono needed some time to just sit in the park, feeding ducks. It was an interesting habit to turn to, yes. A relaxing hour or so just sitting silently on the bench and throwing crumbs at clumsy waterfowl while his mind wandered elsewhere, and it was something he might even be doing if he didn't have memories from ages and ages ago, of sitting here and tearing apart bagels, keeping excellent company with a young lady whose smile had more than made up for his own lack of one.

It had almost become ritual, lately. He still thought of her sometimes while he was out here, still closed his eyes from time to time and pretended he wasn't sitting on the bench by himself. But on occasion, just being outside and paying attention to the birds was nearly enough.

Tonight, Jono was content to feed the ducks alone, ignoring the light patter of rain. It didn't bother him any more than it bothered them, after all.
