The Boards, Tuesday

Now that word had been sent back to him that Mavis had his Hotel back in hand (and the hot-headed Quasimodo had been convinced not to quit because of it), Drac was finally able to sit back and muse over the disaster he had made of the Theatre: there had been no performance the entire semester, and he was running behind for the summer season.

Drac was not a happy Vampire.

So it was that Drac was on the phone calling his suppliers back home and making arrangements for a rather large shipment. The Boards needed a play, and Drac was going to make sure it got a play.

Anyone visiting today would find Drac in and tending to various theatre things. Including writing letters of apology to Jonothon, Mr Kirby, and Ms Malikov.

Given how heavily it was weighing on her mind, Celia was glad to have the opportunity to do some research at work today and see what she could find out about the termination of magical agreements. Not that she really thought this was an especially common thing, her problem, but still. There might be a precedent that she didn't know about, and she certainly wasn't going to ask her father and tip her hand, since there was no way he'd ever let her go through with it if he knew.

She perched behind the counter surrounded by every book she could find in the place, read, and carry to her spot. (With that criteria, there weren't many, honestly.) She was still more than available to help, of course, but you might have to get her attention to drag her nose out of a book.

It was a nice enough day out that Roland figured the park would be a good bet. He was also hungry enough not to feel like wandering too far from pizza and donuts.

It was the little things that led to his location choices, these days.

He was having a Neil sort of day today, at least until someone requested something different. Sure, he could try learning to play something more modern, but it was always such a pain to try to work out heavy electronic work on an acoustic guitar.

Don't worry, even he'd get tired of the sixties and seventies, eventually.

Éponine was having one of those days today, the kind where you got a song stuck in your head only you didn't remember the words, so you kept humming it, all the while getting disproportionately irritated about all the lyrics that just weren't coming to mind.

Did it stop her from humming as she sorted mail and restocked the supplies, or as she went out on her route for that matter? No, but it was the reason why she'd sometimes stop mid-phrase and sigh or shake her head while staring off into some unfixed point in the distance, then resume her business and her humming with an almost manic determination. It was annoying, but damned if she was just going to let it ruin her day.

The Now Hiring sign was in the window again, too, what with new people around and all.

It was a mostly quiet night tonight, so Kitty spent some of her free time looking up dance classes in the area on her phone. As it turned out she sort of really missed it, and she figured if she was teaching it she probably didn't want to feel rusty.

The rest of her free time was spent trying to get Tino to tape the zombie drummer's arm back on because she really didn't want to do that tonight.

The dishwasher looked vaguely frantic when he came up to Bay at the start of her shift and asked whether she was good with plumbing.

Bay should have taken that as a cue to flee then and there. But nooo, she had to be dedicated to her job for once. She went back to the kitchen sinks to poke at the garbage disposals and found them clogged with a frothy brew of noodles, peas, froth and bits of fish. She gave the dishwasher a confused look, wondering if her hunch as to what was going on was correct. "Is this --"

"Yeah," he acknowledged, hanging is head. "We had to find something to do with the leftover tuna casserole."

Ew. Bay spent. the rest of her morning on the phone trying to clear out the clog before she gave up and called a plumber.

It was another lovely work day full of lovely work and no sitting around eating doughnuts, drinking coffee and throwing shit at Ralph's head at all.

Yes, that last sentence was a lie. The only work Tamsin had was currently on the other side of a phone connection.

"For the last time, Tiny," she said irritably, "I don't care that you told me so. If you bother me again, I'm going to show up and punch you in the head."

She slammed the phone down.
