After a week of eerie noises and odd cold spots that always seemed to hit at the least convenient times, Anders was ready for the relative normality of the Magic Box. Plenty of things there could kill him, of course, but they at least would be predictable about it. Spellbooks didn't mutter death curses out of the blue.

The shop was, as expected, free of spectral activity. However, it had one drawback: It reeked of cabbage. Loads and loads of boiled cabbage. Anders tried to track down the source for several fruitless minutes before giving it up as hopeless and settling down behind the counter, muslin shirt over his nose and mouth. It wasn't the most manly look, but it cut down on the stench.

[OOC: Open (if sauerkraut-y) Magic Box, no OCD!]

Jaina had always meant to come back to Fandom a lot more often than she did these days. She'd just gotten busy with work, and family stuff, and having a very busy boyfriend who lived planets away in another government. But she had a few days free without anything bad happening, and and Jag was coming to Coruscant next week and once that happened her time was probably going to be eaten up even more.

She got to town later than intended (stupid portals) and of course the first thing she did was head to the Perk, where she got coffee and sent a text to people letting them know she was in town. Then she got to trying to catch up on radio broadcasts since she'd been gone, realizing that she was pretty okay with things being mostly normal back home.

So call Jessica crazy, but she was starting to think that the mansion where the students were staying might be haunted.

CRAZYTALK, of course. But still, she was trying to do some research into a scintific solution to dealing with ghosts or whatever was happening in her room.

Yes, watching a movie counted as research.

Jim knew that coming back to the island every once in a while probably made it harder for him to move onto a future but he didn't care. There were at least people here that he knew and that weren't complete and total assholes. He didn't have to deal with his stepfather and he didn't have to put up with constant silence from his absentee brother. If anything, he at least had the cute girls and guys behind the counter to flirt with.

But, he wasn't doing that right now. He was sprawled in a seat with a foot on the table like he owned it. He didn't but no one had told him to mind his manners so he was going with it. He had a muffin and a water and he was scrolling through his phone, looking for any sign of communication from a few specific people.

And there was nothing. Seemed like that was how it was going to be from now on. Whatever, Jim was used to people leaving him. He'd deal and no one would really know he was affected. Sure, there was some angry chewing of the muffin but maybe the muffin was just really, really good.

Okay?

Something had really felt different for Flash the last couple days. His mood was a bit brighter. It felt like something was off his chest.

There literally was something off his chest, of course, but Flash wasn't prone to recognizing magic or the lack thereof, so he couldn't quite put his finger on it. What he was able to do was flirt a little with the aerobics instructor, so that's how he was doing to pass the time today.

He was doing flirting. Not the aerobics instructor. HE WAS A PROFESSIONAL.
