Allie hadn't turned back from her puppy form yet, and Jack was starting to get worried. She seemed perfectly happy, but he still fretted something had gone wrong to keep her stuck as a dog for this long.

Maybe she was just enjoying the chance to sunbathe. There weren't a lot of windows in Devil's Nest, but Allie found one in a back room and curled up in the patch of sun for a midday nap. Jack took a photo before going to unpack some new (terrible) vodka flavors.

The shop was starting to take the shape of somewhere that Irene would like to work -- the inventory was accounted for, the shelves were neatly stocked, and she had been on the phone with the cooperating vendors all morning.

(Not that she'd come in to any sort of disarray, when she'd found herself owner of this place. But it was nice to have one's ducks in a row, and everything the way one prefers it.)

She was now embroiled in a email conversation with the people who supplied the erotically-shaped lollipops and chocolates. While Irene was happy to keep stocking them, she was curious to see whether she couldn't get more variety.

This was how she'd ended up in a now-30-emails-deep conversation with the vendor, going back and forth about how of course she would love to stock their penis-shaped macaroni, but she couldn't in good conscience do such a thing without sampling the product ahead of time.

It had been a long time since she'd negotiated with someone. She was fairly sure she'd come out of this not only with complimentary pasta, but a discount and free shipping. But the game was the best part, of course.

Today, Hatter was slightly distracted by looking through a catalog full of horribly looking furniture. His apartment had come with some furnishings but they were all so dull and boring that he'd finally gotten around to looking replacements. It wasn't going well. Everything was just too homely or too yawn inducing. He literally thought he might fall asleep if he saw one more floral patterned chair. That or he'd burn the catalog.

TODAY'S SPECIALS
Zingiber Ginger Coconut Tea
Blood Orange Sorbet Oolong Tea
Matcha Japanese Green Tea

"Bloody hell, is everyone on this planet completely and utterly daft and dull?" Hatter muttered to himself, shaking his head. "I figured an oyster could do better than this."

The wait staff left Hatter alone to his muttering and his browsing. Nothing had been set on fire. Yet.

Cade was here on time, being a Responsible Karking Adult.

Ten minutes into his coffee, he decided that being a Responsible Karking Adult was really boring.

Which was why, if you came into the store, you'd find him flinging pencils into the ceiling.
