When night had fallen on Fandom Island on Sunday night, there had been rain and clouds and gray for days on end. It had been a dark and stormy everything, and the island had very nearly had its fill of that. Sure, there had been no small amount of excitement, either, between people being shot and arrested and bitten and taken down in the shadows. But when morning came on the Monday, the sun was welcome to do whatever the sun was so inclined.

Which, granted, was looking to involve more thunderstorms. But at least they were thunderstorms that the island had come by honestly. They were more about proper weather patterns than ambiance, and that made all the difference.

Those who had changed would, like the weather, also find themselves back to normal, though they might have to disentangle themselves from awkward positions with unexpected company, or perhaps some truly unfortunate sleeping places. This, too, was a part of Fandom living.

When Monday came, it was Monday as usual, though perhaps with a few more stories to be told than most Mondays. And life went on.

[OOC: And thus wraps our Noir weekend! We really had a blast with this, and we hope you all did as well. Thank you all so much for playing along!]

If Rosalind was rather smug today, well, who could blame her?

She'd made it through a weekend without any of the weirdness touching her one whit--mostly due to the fact that she'd been off island for half of it, then listening to the podcast had only given her the news that avoiding going outside was the best idea--and now, this morning, the shop appeared normal.

And she had coffee.

It bothered her a bit that these were the important things in her life these days, but until she could figure out a way to get home… this was what she was stuck with.

Vic rushed into the Trooper Station cursing a blue streak the entire way with only a brief pause to tell Ralph to get the fuck out of her way.

Hey, it was her first morning after experiencing Fandom weirdness directly! She should feel a little freaked out!

[For those who might have been arrested during the weekend.]

The day after Hatter's first brush with island weirdness wasn't a very good one. He was glad to be unaffected and no longer wearing that ridiculous tuxedo and he was glad that his hat, which had been missing throughout the weekend, was back on his head where it belonged. His restaurant looked to be no worse for the wear though he had the door wide open so he could air it out just in case there was any lingering smoke smell from having something set on fire.

TODAY'S SPECIALS

Toasted Nut Brulee Oolong Tea
Darjeeling De Triomphe Black Tea
Sakura Allure Green Tea

Hatter was in though he wasn't in his seat today. He was behind the tea counter, making himself a special drink with just a touch of something he'd brought with him from Wonderland. It wasn't completely necessary but adding just a touch of mellowness (strained from some oyster back home) would make it a little easier to deal with the day.

It was a pleasant evening, as these things went. The darkness was murky as opposed to Stygian, the constant rain was closer to a light summer drizzle than to bone-numbing sleet. Even the ever present saxophone music was almost soothing compared to its usual forlorn and foreboding range.

Tucked between Satriale's Pork and the Chilly Boulder, across from the Movie Sign Theater 3000, running the latest talkies every evening with weekend matinees, was the First National Bank of Fandom Town. A busy temple to capitalism during the week, today it stood a silent monolith. Silent until a muffled roar deep within the building, like someone had just used powerful explosives on the tons of concrete and steel that made up the vault door, shook it to its very foundations.

Some minutes thereafter, as the bank's alarms began a belated ringing, a pair of black clad figures, hat brims pulled down low over kerchief covered faces, emerged from the bank's front doors. Toting Tommy Guns and hauling heavy duffels, they dove into a waiting rickshaw, urging the driver to get the lead out before they'd need a doctor to.

[ooc: Cara and Surreal have just robbed the bank and are rickshawing into the night at high speed. Feel free to react as they're taking an escape route that covers most the island to throw off the fuzz.]

Kenzi had considered an 'apology special', but then decided FREE DRINKS IF I SET YOU ON FIRE would either scare people off or attract the wrong clientele. So:

POST WEIRD WEEKEND SPECIAL
AT LEAST WE WEREN'T IN A BALL PIT
$1 shots for everyone who got arrested or shot

After receving a karking depressing message from Atton in his voicemail, Cade braved the bugs in the dorms, broke into Atton's room and stole all of the booze he'd left behind...then added a couple of his own bottles.

He was aiming to be very drunk by noon, and was feeling pretty good about his life choices there.

Jack was late to work, which he was going to blame on his very strange weekend playing noir-style werewolf private eye and very much not on the Real Housewives of Someplace Fancy marathon he'd gotten sucked into. The TV show had a lot to do with it,though. For a crazy weekend in Fandom, this last one could have been worse. He hadn't killed or made out with anyone he shouldn't have. After five yars of this nonsense, that counted as a victory.

He took his place behind the bar, occasionally guiltily sneaking into the back room to check on whether the blond one with the immobile face had divorced her no-good husband yet. He was betting it would happen before the end of the season.

[OOC: Open bar no OCD b/c late.]
