The beach held a certain fascination for Cosette, who had never lived anywhere beside the shore before she came to Fandom, and while she still preferred to spend hours in explorations of the preserve where she could surround herself with animals and plant life she found the beach relaxing.

It seemed like a good place to be today, so there Cosette was with her knees tucked up against her chest and her toes dug into the sand, looking out at the water; the rhythm of the waves was soothing somehow, and watching them crash against the sand was oddly cathartic. Perhaps she'd call her father later; she was sure he'd have no objection if she wanted to come over for dinner. Perhaps she'd ask him a few questions, too. He was intractably tight-lipped about his own past, no matter how good Cosette was at cajoling him into just about anything else, but perhaps she could persuade him to help her fill in the blanks about the night he found her. There wasn't much she could do about that now but face up to it.

[OOC: Totally open. Apologies in advance for slowness, basically like always.]

Despite still feeling sour about what he'd done over the weekend, Hatter had come into work because he'd needed the distraction. The staff wanted to be killed in on the whereabouts of their boss over the weekend but he'd shut them down with a look and a snarl. Rare thing so it shut them down fairly quickly. Hatter took up his spot and went to write up the tea specials but then stopped. Maybe hold off on those for a bit.

TODAY'S DRINK SPECIALS
Chipotle Grapefruit Margarita
Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita
Smokey Margarita

So yes, today was going to be an alcoholic day, it seemed. Hatter wasn't the best drink mixer in the world but he knew his way around mixed drinks and if his was laced with something from his special stash, well, no one else had to know that, did they?

He probably wouldn't tell anyway.

Jack had listened to radio exactly enough to realize he wasn't ever going to quite understand what had happened during the week he'd been ... preoccupied. It didn't matter, really: The island had come through it fine, and he was sure he'd someday get a chance to play the hero once again. That wasn't him being arrogant, though he was. That was a reality of island life.

Besides, he had more pressing concerns on his mind. Like the giant cotton candy machine now parked behind the bar. It was fascinating to watch, and the melting sugar smelled good, but he wasn't sure it fit in with the club's ambiance.

He took a handful of fresh cotton candy to nibble on and then started making calls to see who might be willing to take the machine off his hands.

[OOC: Open post, no OCD!]

As usual, it was the Day After Weirdness. So Kenzi had a special going.

SERIOUS BOOZE
Without any carnival themes
But with little parasols and swords

Joker had had a fun weekend on Tiptree with his family, celebrating his birthday a little early. He was a little disappointed that he hadn't been able to talk Eleanor into going with him, but there'd be plenty of other times for her to come along. His father had given him a few little things, a few new clothes, and the "I never know what to get you" speech, but the absolute best birthday present had been getting to spend time being a big brother. Hil was chattering non-stop now, and running around all over the place getting into trouble, and generally being an adorable toddler. It was wonderful.

He started walking up the hill slowly -- it was going to be a trek all the way to the school from the causeway, and he wanted to pace himself. To pass the time, he turned on the morning radio.

"Oh, CRAP!!! Oh, crap. Ohhhhh, crap. What the HELL?!?!?"

Were his friends okay?!? He picked up the pace, and started looking for a rickshaw to flag down.

(OOC: Open for any passers-by. I didn't ping in on Friday, got stuck at work for a software release all day Saturday, and spent Sunday not sure whether to ping in to the carnival. So, Joker's been away all weekend.)
