Anders had taken Joker's advice and finally bought a phone. It hadn't been nearly as overwhelming as he'd feared; he'd just needed to swallow his pride, ask more than a few stupid questions, and sign a contract promising that every month he'd give the phone company almost an entire day's wages.

Easy.

Of course, Joker's (ahem) interesting video recommendations, coupled with some exploring Anders had done on his own, had put all sorts of new ideas in Anders' head. He couldn't look at the display of cords for use in spellwork without going pink, and he now had a new appreciation for the limits of human flexibility and determination.

He tried to put that out of his mind as he neatened the shop. The plastic skeleton flamingos looked dapper in their bow ties, of course, but it was hardly fair to dress all of them as men. Some of them needed cobweb wigs to make it clear they were female skeleton flamingos. He stretched the cotton gently into place, putting some of the flamingos into pairs so they wouldn't get lonely.

After a pretty good night out last night where he had some good conversation and got a phone number, Flash was feeling good today. He was on his legs and helping out some of the trainers when he wasn't at the desk and there was even a little bit of a bounce in his step.

Of course, just as he was feeling good about things down here, he got a call from the Lighthouse apparently some serious things were going on and he wouldn't be able to get any portals back any time soon. Something about Phoenix? He wasn't sure what was going on in Arizona, but okay. Apparently he was just going to hang out in Fandom for a bit.

It had been warm a fair bit longer than Edward was used to - by now back home would be rain-soaked and miserable, ambling quickly towards cold. He supposed that was what the Americas were like, then: warmer than they ought to be, not that he was complaining. In fact, he'd had half a mind to take advantage of the heat while he still could, but matters and letters had gotten in the way.

Of course, when he finally did find the time to go to the beach for a swim, there were threatening clouds piling on up ahead. They didn't seem to do the temperature much harm, however; he decided, after a moment, that he could chance the rain this once. After all, the clouds could be a sign that the weather was turning for autumn sooner rather than later.

He tugged his shirt off over his head and rushed into the water, pushing through his own shivering - it had gotten colder than the last time he'd done this. Still, it was nice, and soon enough he was splashing about, making good time, swimming circles and letting his muscles have a workout.

Aye, it'd been a good idea - as long as those clouds didn't do nothing.

It was nice out and Jessica still had a couple days before she had to be in New York. Apparently Susan Storm was starting up something called "the Future Foundation," which sounded a little weird, considering what Jessica heard about some events back in the early summer. But whatever. Sue was good people, and it was nice to see something happen to the Baxter Building now.

But again, that was in a couple days. Tonight, Jessica was enjoying the nice night outside Chilly Boulder with some ice cream. They really needed one of these by her apartment in New York. Maybe she could take her SHIELD severance package and become a franchisee.

[OOC: Open to any evening ice cream wanters. Or anyone who would like to catch up with Jess. Or people who don't want either who I guess would be pinging in out of spite because they find Venn diagrams oppressive?]
