There were not enough words in the English language to describe how much Kitty was dreading going in to work today, but she sucked it up and went in anyway. And she brought cookies as an "I'm sorry I straight up murdered you and drank your blood" gift.

Having been through enough of these over the last nine years, Tino seemed mostly fine with it, but he did keep a cross on the bar between him and Kitty, you know, casually. She wasn't going to get into why that wasn't going to do any good, but okay.

Fandom Post Office, November 11 (Tuesday)

By this point, Éponine was well used to people on her mail route or who came into the post office telling her about the weird things that had happened to them over the weekend, every time one of Those Weekends came around; that was one of the risks that came with trying to strike up conversations with customers, and she didn't mind.  She was also used to them asking her about what had happened to her over those weekends, which was why she was regaling them with wild stories she'd concocted about thinking she was some English girl working at a nightclub in Berlin.

(Why?  Because the reality was that Cosette had tracked her down at work last Friday and outright insisted that Éponine accompany her to visit her father for the weekend, and while it was pretty much impossible to put up a fight with Cosette when she had her mind set on anything, the entire experience had been -- on Éponine's end anyway -- guilt-inducing, awkward, uncomfortable, and overall something she really didn't want to talk about.)

. . . nobody asked her about the singing, though.  She did that all the time, and the regulars were used to it.
