Eliot had spent the first half of his day setting up traps around the back door and the stairs up to the loft. He was spending the second half in the diner itself, keeping an eye on the staff and looking over his plans for upping his own place's security again.

Parker had made it all the way to the stairs before she couldn't get further. That was too far. The trouble was, the snare trap was the most effective, but the stairwell was the only place with tall enough ceilings for it to work without injuring her. He was possibly going to have to rethink his whole 'humane trapping' scheme. He winced and pinched the bridge of his nose. The whole thing was starting to give him a headache. He was probably due to get his eyes checked again.

He reached up and rubbed the claw on his necklace, the action as usual making him feel a little better. When he looked up, the kitchen staff was huddled in the far doorway, peering at him and whispering to each other, just like they'd been doing all day.

"What?" Eliot demanded.

The kitchen staff froze, then started trying to push each other to the front to answer him. Eliot sighed, shook his head, and went back to his notes. If everyone around him was determined to go crazy, he was really going to have to step up his security game.

By Monday, Hatter's belongings still hadn't turned up. He'd gone from angry to grumpy to just sullen over that time. He was still feeling that way when he took up his spot in his chair, ignoring everyone around him. He held up a newspaper in front of him and pretended to read.

This island was starting to annoy him.

Leland Gaunt could have retired years ago. Millenia ago. But he hadn't, for one very important reason.

Leland Gaunt loved his work. That quote about loving one's job and never working a day in one's life? It was so very, very true.

Jack was mostly healed when he made it to work today -- and, even better, Emma had gotten fussed about him fighting with a supervillain (silly girl) and had portalled into town for some weekend TLC. It was only reluctantly that he left her back at his house to get to work, and he definitely wouldn't be lingering to closing time.

There was already a sign in the club window: HALF-PRICE GUINNESS, $3 GREEN COCKTALS. Jack looked at it warily before proceeding inside.

The DJ and Tiny were both dressed all in green, and the DJ had decided to add a mix of Irish folk songs to the mix. Turned out that for one small island, the Irish had produced quite a number of songs about the English stealing their land, sheep and/or women.

[OOC: Open bar, open post!]

Kenzi had been practicing her sneaking. Or that's what she told Tino the tenth time she popped out at him from nowhere.

Tino would be over there in the corner, clutching a broom and trying to look everywhere at once tonight.

Daiquiris! $1
I WILL MAKE YOU A FREE KAHLUA MUDSLIDE if you tell Tino he's overreacting.
