Eliot stood outside the front door to the diner, enjoying the sunshine. It was hot, bordering on muggy, and the air was barely moving. He eyed the sidewalk and the amount of shade cast by the building consideringly.

The busboy burst out the door with a distressed, shuddering huff. He was wearing one of the freezer's parkas and Eliot's knit cap. "Oh my god," he said. "Oh my god."

"How's the dishwasher doin' in there?" Eliot asked.

"He swears he'll have it managed soon," the busboy said. "But I don't think a certificate from Sally Struthers in air conditioning repair is going to do it."

The cook strolled out behind him, wearing his usual white t-shirt and cargo shorts. The busboy stared at him boggle-eyed.

"What?" the cook asked.

"It's fourteen degrees in there!" said the busboy.

Eliot snorted.

"Forty," said the cook. "And anyway, it feels fine over the deep frier."

"Alright," Eliot said. "Let's start moving some tables out here. We'll have patio seating for the day."

"And get some umbrellas and a fan!" Eliot shouted after them.

Hanna's first day at the Post Office included sorting through very large piles of mail, working with the automatic stamping machine, and a mysterious package with an indecipherable address on it.

Hopefully whoever Leonie-Sue Mc--something, was, there was only one of her on the Island. (Today).

The post office must have been in a mood today; at least, that was the only way Jack could explain the dozen boxes full of knitting wool and knitting needles cluttering up the club. It was all different colors, but most were in the red family, from the softest pinks to a few maroons. (He briefly wondered if Eric had ordered them to knit some kind of blood-themed craft project but decided that couldn't possibly be it, mainly because it was absurd.)

Since the supplies were there anyhow, he claimed a ball of tomato red and a set of beginner needles and started trying to teach himself to knit with YouTube videos. Mostly, it involved a lot of poking himself in the hands and swearing.

[OOC: Open club, no OCD!]

Kenzi had intimidated the zombies into playing a medley of spring songs, including one about hormones in the park or something.
