Please excuse the cursing in the store today. York was trying to get his Space Battles tickets. He had been trying since last night but the stupid websites kept crashing on him and by the time they went back up only 3D tickets were available.

3D didn't really work for him. At all.

[I actually have to work today so SP applies]

If you thought Kitty hasn't gotten her Space Battles tickets last night you'd be wrong. If you thought she hadn't caved and bought more today so she'd basically be spending the weekend in a theater, you'd be wronger.

The zombies were practicing new material, the game was on, and so far it was a good night. Unless the Cubs lost.

[Kitty doesn't know it, but this is the last chance to talk to her for a whole. Get your time in while you can!]

Ringo wasn't entirely sure whether it was a conscious plan that took her daily AT run across the Kwik Stop roof. It was Tuesday, after all. Not that there was anything particular about Tuesday, of course. It was just another day. Even if she did tend to run into certain people on certain days around Fandom.

She didn't really need a rest, of course. It wasn't like there were that many chances to really push herself on the island. But she still came to an easy stop as she landed on the roof, turning in a slow circle. There was a cat stretched out in a patch of sunlight that turned its head to give Ringo a look when she arrived. She didn't land especially close to it, but it still didn't look especially pleased by the interruption. There were a few seconds of mutual staring, but when it became apparent that Ringo hadn't brought anything to eat, there was a soft hiss and the cat turned away, apparently determined to ignore the intruder.

Something about that dismissive sound brought a little smile to Ringo's face. "I hear you, I hear you," she murmured, walking over to the edge of the roof and sitting down with her legs dangling over the edge. She made sure to give the cat plenty of space. There was enough roof for the two of them to share, after all.

It probably wouldn't be long before Ringo got up and gave the whole roof back to the cat. She wasn't very good at sitting still. But for a little bit, it was oddly relaxing to be thoroughly ignored.

Well, it took her some extra hours while the town was quiet last week, but Jessica finished up everything she needed to get ready for a trip to Battleworld. She had a compas that would get her to Doom, a portal device to bring her back to Fandom, some extra gear in case she faced trouble, and all the data she could collect on that world.

She would go through it right now, but Homecoming was coming up and there was a chance she wouldn't survive the experience. So the answers to her questions could wait until she saw some friendly old faces.

In the meantime, the shop was open.

"How the fuck did I end up on the night shift?"

Vic had ended up on the night shift because she had pissed off Ralph one too many times by using his helmet for a salsa bowl.

"Is anyone else here but me?"

Which was probably a little extreme of Ralph but he was tired of his helmet smelling like Jalapenos.

"This job sucks," Vic complained and decided to spend the rest of the evening throwing wads of paper at Ralph's desk. By morning it should in a pile of paper.
