The Park, Tuesday Afternoon
Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 07:07 amIt was Tuesday.
Rufus didn't have plans for many things on the island yet, aside from his intent to check out both the library and the bookstore in town (he'd passed it on his morning runs), but today was different.
Today, Tseng expected him to check in. This was why Rufus had timed a certain delivery, which he'd discussed with Dante, to be arriving just about now. He wasn't going to pick up his phone, but he wasn't averse to letting Tseng know he was alive.
In his own way.
He was out in the park, since this much green was novel even for him and he was used to blue sky and greenery far more than most residents of Midgar.
"Dark Nation," he called. "Fetch!"
Rufus flung the Frisbee and watched as Dark Nation went tearing off after it eagerly.
It really is just too bad I can't be there to watch him receive it...
( Meanwhile, back in Midgar… )
The beauty of having a lot of money to throw around on trivial matters meant that Rufus knew almost exactly when the package was due to arrive. Which meant when his phone started vibrating not long after, he knew who it was.
To his endless amusement, the phone kept on vibrating as Tseng kept trying to reach him. He’d listen to the voicemails later.
He was certain they’d be a treat.
In the meantime, he was going to wrestle the Frisbee away from his dog and throw it again and consider the day to be a good one. So far.
