Dani had gotten up early and rushed over to The Gig to get the daily chores out of the way. With that accomplished, she changed into her riding apparel (thankfully free of glitter) and started saddling the horses. She wasn't sure how much of the planetoid was suitable for exploration on horseback, but she was going to give it a shot. She'd go alone if she had to, but she was hoping for enough paying customers so she could lead a group.

Mary grew up in Las Vegas. She got her start working in Las Vegas mega-resorts, and she knew that after spending several years in Fandom, she would probably not recognize the Las Vegas skyline anymore. The city's hotels and casinos were constantly being torn down and rebuilt with new names and new marketing gimmicks. She'd quit her job at the Montecito once right before the old hotel was imploded, only to be hired back by the new owners. She hadn't shed any tears over change.

Today, she was at the front desk reading about the news that New York City's Waldorf Astoria hotel was closing to undergo a condo conversion. She was actually a lot more upset about it than she would have expected. She was frowning as she folded stacks of towels fresh from housekeeping, not even stopping to make any of her signature towel animals. She gave a halfhearted response to the head of housekeeping's questions and didn't even crack a smile when Gunther brought over her favorite sandwich for lunch. The only time she seemed to perk up was when Gunther found her a video of a recent casino implosion. After all, nothing brought Las Vegas residents together like watching old casinos blow up.

Eliot was only slightly hungover today. Mostly because by the time he got home yesterday, Parker the ferret had started dragging water glasses over to him every five minutes. Even animaled, she was keeping an eye out for him.

When she wasn't dragging Hardison around the house by his teddy bear ear, anyway.

Eliot had them both with him at Luke's again today, much to the kitchen staff's amusement. Parker bounded after him and hissed any time he got close to anything alcoholic, though he was done doing his Nate impersonation, now. Hardison was propped in place of pride on top of the pastry case, where Eliot could see him from most places in the diner.

"You run for the vents again," he told Parker, "and I'm getting you a leash."

Parker snickered at him and stole his keys.
