"I don't know," Alluka said to her giraffe, Mr. Bubbles, as they peered into a box full of swimsuits together. "I just don't think it's warm enough that people are really going to want to look at these."

She supposed that people might want to look and buy early--it wasn't like clothes went bad, after all--but it didn't make her want to unpack things and put them out early.

"I know," Alluka whispered to Mr. Bubbles, as she closed the lid to the box. "Let's go and look at handbags and purses instead."

So that was what they did.

Ugh. Verity had spent the weekend combing through the sewers looking for a nest of ahool and had managed to pick up a cold while she was at it. She was slumped over the bar, clutching her hot toddy to her chest in hopes that it might soothe her sore throat some and Tiny was throwing tiny packages of tissues at her and spraying down every surface she touched with disinfectant.

"Aren't you, like, immune to germs or something?" she asked, glaring at him.
