The radio behind the counter in the post office lobby was on today. This wouldn't be so bad if every other song it played wasn't the exact same one. And if it would let anyone change the station.

The problem to just top it all off was that Éponine couldn't turn the damned thing off, and the temptation to just throw it out the window was getting stronger by the minute.

She'd just take her time about getting all the deliveries out today, that was all. That ought to work, right?

Two classes on Monday meant that Rufus was changing his working hours again.

Hello, Tuesdays.

They were much the same as Mondays anyway, when it came to business.

"Dark Nation," he said, leaning over the back of the chair his dog had decided to take a nap in, "you're supposed to kill the dust bunnies. Not sleep with them."

His dog didn't stir and one of the dust bunnies flicked its ears at him and yawned, showing off pointy teeth.

Well. That sure showed him.

Book Haven is Open.

So, somehow, Nathan had wound up with a job at the flower shop. Mostly because he was stuck here and he was bored, and flowers seemed about as close to home as anything, unless he wanted to end up working at Sushi Station.

Nathan really didn't want to end up working at Sushi Station.

... What Nathan hadn't counted on was that his first week was going to be one leading up to what was apparently a very flower-heavy holiday. And so he was going to be learning the ropes of working the flower shop, doing arrangements, and taking orders while under fire. And he was generally calm under fire. He had to be, after the places he'd been.

But this... this was insane.

If anybody needed flowers, they'd find a somewhat frazzled Algren knee-deep in roses and cards, wondering what the hell he'd gotten himself into.

[OOC: Open! OCD-free, muwaha.]

For some reason, there had been painters here when Kitty came in earlier to get some paperwork done. She hadn't hired them, but they were here anyway.

And to be honest, Kitty kind of liked the new look.

So tonight there were fans going to try and get the smell out, but it wasn't any harder talking over them than it was to talk over music?

Bunnies. Everything was bunnies. And chickens, yes, but mostly bunnies. Apparently this year was worse for bunny returns than usual, what with the bunny-related trauma of a few weeks ago, and so Furnado was kind of drowning in them.

Bunnies and chickens. Zack was occupying his time at work today by setting up pens big enough for all of the newcomers to have space to move around, bunnies on one side of the room, chickens on the other. And they were all adorable, and he was tempted to bring them all home, but so help him, he probably couldn't justify coming home with fifteen rabbits. Even if they were cute.

He had a sign up in the window today: BUNNIES.

And then another sign underneath, that one of the onsite vets had drafted up: A Pet Is A Commitment, Not A Toy.

... Which Zack couldn't argue with, and so in the window it would stay.

Ghanima had not been open recently, between her trips to Dune and acquiring new stock while the store was being cleaned and painted -- everything from the previous owner was being discarded and burned, just in case -- but today her personal staff was carrying in the recently acquired merchandise under her direction. Paintings, rugs, pottery... from all across time, space, and the multiverse. Why settle for antiques from one timeline, when you had Portalocity at your disposal?

Needful Things was open, and the Atreides was in.

Mary was doing double duty today, helping guests at the front desk while putting out a selection of breads, bagels, spreads and cereals on the buffet. Gunther had been rattled by something at graduation and was too traumatized to do his usual job. He made an effort this morning, shuffling through the lobby in a bathrobe and bunny slippers on his way to the kitchen. But it wasn't long before he ran back to his room, whimpering about snakes.

After checking for the thirty-ninth time that there were no snakes in the kitchen, Mary snagged cup of coffee for herself. It was time to try and catch up on paperwork.
