The Park, and then the Trooper Station, Monday Morning

The trip back to Earth in the shuttle didn't take more than a few hours, but out of habit he ended up pulling out of ID space just over DC, instead of Fandom Island.

"That's weird," he mused, noting the absence of the Taelon Embassy in the city's skyline as he flew towards the coast. He figured the government must have decided to tear it down after the Taelons had left. A few minutes later, the navigational computer pinged to let him know he was approaching Fandom and he began the landing sequence. The virtual glass had barely dissolved and he was just stepping out when a person in strange white and blue came stalking up.

Liam tensed, curling his hands in to fists as his palms began to itch. Blowing something up immediately after touching down would be a hell of a first impression, and one he kind of wanted to avoid.

The Arms Hotel, Monday

Mary sat at the front desk, staring at the plate in front of her and trying desperately not to vomit. "No. I am not eating that, Gunther. It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen."

Gunther tried explaining again that if other restaurants on the island were serving hamburger pancakes, then he needed to up his game. What better way to re-introduce his signature Guntherburger than to pair it with his signature dessert? Behold the Guntherburger Strudel!

All Mary saw was a massive slab of well-done beef wrapped in puff pastry and slathered in Gunther's infamous henri sauce. "I am not eating that. You know full well that I don't eat red meat," said Mary. "And I don't see how anyone who likes burgers is going to eat that either. You should just go back to normal food."

Apparently that was the worst possible thing she could have said to Gunther. He declared that until Mary ate the Guntherburger and liked it, he would not serve her anything.

"Fine. I haven't been to Sushi Station in a while and I had a craving for salmon skin rolls," said Mary, grabbing her purse. "Also, their food is completely edible!" she yelled at Gunther's back as he stormed off.

Except now, it seemed the unthinkable had happened: Octavia was lost. She didn't recognize where she was. Worse, the forest itself looked different. When she turned around, nothing looked familiar. Nothing looked like where she knew she'd just been.

She wasn't sure what the hell was going on, but her sword was in her hand before she even thought about it.
