Fandom Post Office, June 20 (Tuesday)

There was a small pyramid display of bottles of scented lotions on the counter this morning, and Éponine wasn't asking. (Taking a few for herself, because she was perhaps a little overly invested in not having chapped skin any more, but not asking where they had come from or why they were there, because this was, after all, Fandom.) She did put up a small sign that said "TAKE SOME (please)" next to the display, though, because what else was she going to do with them?

She could have charged for them, and kept the money. It had occurred to her. But mostly, they were taking up space, and she could get rid of them more quickly this way.

Besides, she was going to be too busy fielding phone calls from someone who wanted to know where their package was, because it hadn't yet arrived. As it was currently in a dimension without access to online tracking she couldn't offer the customer that option, but she got the distinct impression that the customer felt like the repeated calls would make it arrive more quickly.

"Look here," she said at one point during one of those calls, "whoever sent your parcel, whatever it is, used the camel-back scenic route shipping rate. There's not much I can do about it now, but perhaps it'll arrive with some pretty pictures of the trip?"

Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

Well, it was shaping up to be an interesting week already, wasn't it? Nathan had apparently picked up another tenant yesterday, and he found himself quietly contemplating when in the world he'd become that person who just opened his doors to anybody needing a place to stay.

It wasn't a bad thing to be, really. It was just... new.

Of course, he spent his day contemplating all that while also trying to extricate himself from a particularly affectionate pothos vine, which was trying to either give him a very thorough hug or else crush him to death. He didn't particularly care to let it continue long enough to find out which it was.

Ah, another day at the flower shop.

Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday

Zack gasped when he came in for his shift today. He'd heard about the newborn puppies over the radio last week, but between realizing Rufus was on the island and, of all things, dogsitting for him, hadn't been able to make it in to see them for himself until this morning. They were so... so small! And wiggly! Their eyes were still closed and they couldn't stand on their own two feet yet, and he basically wanted to snuggle each and every one of them.

He resisted, leaving them with their mother so as to not stress any of them out, and went to get one of the older puppies to keep company with for the day. There was a ridiculous mutt with one floppy ear who loved wrestling the rope toy, and Zack was quite happy to alternate between playing with her and doing assorted duties around the store while she napped and ate.

Taako was double fisting the frappes today. It was pretty lucky he was rail thin otherwise he'd have to start worrying about the fact that those things were about a thousand calories each. Just wait until discovered Instagram and started taking artsy pictures of the things.
