Amaya had been putting some finishing touches on her lesson plan for Tuesday when a work order for the Crumbler suddenly, surprisingly fluttered onto the counter in front of her. She felt a sudden tug of excitement in her gut for a brief moment until she realized there were a couple squirrels snickering and trying to hide behind the gum display.

"Dang it!" She pounded her fist on the counter, crumpled up the work order, and threw it at the pair, sending them scurrying. "How many times do I have to tell you squirrels, petty destruction of another squirrel's tree because you think they stole your nuts is not an appropriate use of the Crumbler! And you can't pay me in acorns, anyway! Arrgh!"

It was really just mean of them, getting her hopes up like that. Especially since she really, really wished it wasn't sometimes.

The flower shop was quiet today, and Seivarden watered the plants, tidied up, made tea and tried to improve her flower arranging skills. It wasn't actually going too badly. And it bothered her a little that she didn't find it completely boring. It was the sort of thing you might take up as a hobby if you had been removed from a good position for some embarrassing reason. Or been assigned to a bad position in the first in the first place. Neither possibility was something she had ever considered.

There was apparently another holiday coming up in about a month or so that demanded flowers, so perhaps she would manage some decent arrangements by then.

Miguel looked at the specials board, then squinted at the chef. He wanted to ask if the guy was really Canadian or just being weird again, but for all he knew, this was an island thing. Heck, maybe everybody in his world was from Canada. At least they weren't all Wolverine.

"That's not a meal," he said firmly instead. "We have to have something else on the menu too."

This job, apparently, was all about the compromises.

Caritas was pretty quiet and normal tonight.

Except Mike kept finding lemons around the bar. Like, just randomly stashed in empty glasses or between various bottles of booze or rolling out from underneath the zombie drummer's drum set. At one point, Mike went to sit down, only to find a lemon on the bar stool that had definitely not been there a few seconds earlier.

There was only one thing to do:

Also, Mike was spending some of his time trying to juggle with a couple lemons. What? He was bored!
