died8yearsago: (oops coffee)
[personal profile] died8yearsago
After the bar thing on Friday, Rosa'd gone back up to New York for the weekend, because screw sticking around this podunk little island when she could be celebrating St. Patrick's Day in one of the best places to be celebrating it. And her plan had gone perfectly, leading to a weekend haze of a lot of drinking, making out with her girlfriend, green puke, and maybe possibly one caper with her Nine-Nine crew, but honestly, she couldn't really remember. She felt she could vaguely remember Cheddar being involved somehow, and Peralta dressed as a leprechaun...

...the fact that she couldn't remember confirmed its success, though, and it also confirmed the fact that the last thing she wanted to do today was actually get back to working. A fact she hoped she made very clear when she kicked open the door to the station, stomped over to her desk, slung her jacket over her chair before sitting down and tossing her feet up on the desk, not removing her sunglasses and declaring, "Don't anyone even think about coming over here with crap for me to do."

That really didn't seem to stop Ralph, though, who seemed to have a death wish. Rosa glared at him the whole time it took for him to come over and tentatively put a folder on her desk for her perusal. A glare that stayed in place as she maintained full eye-contact (as well as one could with someone whose eyes you couldn't see, anyway), lifted up her coffee mug, and very slowly poured the liquid onto the file.

"Oops," she said. "I spilled. Better go type up another one."

After about the third time of trying, he decided he'd better just email her the papers.

Tiny sauntered in wearing a leprecaun outfit and sequinned green shoes.

"St. Patrick's Day was Saturday," Verity reminded.

Apparently Tiny didn't care.

"You look ridiculous," she added.

Tiny just shrugged and grinned.

"...This is all so we can make it 'Half-Priced Beer' day the way the day after Valentine's is 'Half-Priced Chocolate,' isn't it?"

This time Tiny gave her finger guns and Verity had to remind herself not to break his hands.

"That would still be Sunday, not today," she pointed out.

Tiny's disappointed expression was so funny, Verity was willing to give the discount. After she finished laughing at him.

spin_kick_snap: Kang Min Kyung as Kathy/Banzai (Napping)
[personal profile] spin_kick_snap
Kathy had signed up for an intensive EMT training course in Baltimore that had started last week and it was kicking her ass. Six hours of classes every day, Monday through Friday, from six pm until midnight. And then this past weekend had been full of workshops and seminars which hadn't been mandatory or anything, but her instructor had promised they'd be useful and that the class should strongly consider going.

So of course Kathy had. Because of course.

Still, it had been a really long time since she'd been a student and she'd discovered that sitting still for six hours cramming information into her brain was a skill that could get rusty, just like anything else. She had a small headache, right between her eyes from concentration and she was just so tired. Get up early to run, open the shop during the day, then close down and head out to Baltimore. It almost felt like high school again, except she distinctly remembered having more free time back then. She felt like she hadn't seen her housemates in days--compounded by deciding to crash alone in her room over the weekend so she wouldn't bother the guys by getting up early and getting in late.

And today, the very Mondayest of Mondays, Kathy had gotten out the books to go over her accounts and had barely started checking the math before her vision blurred and she nodded off. At least she wasn't drooling on the books?

When Eliot went to check on the kitchen staff today, they were all wearing shades of orange or maroon and spinning in ecstatic circles.

"Nope," Eliot said, and walked right back out.
