For some strange reason Kitty was completely distracted tonight. Work was sort of getting done, if not all the way before she wandered onto something else, but you know what, she was trying.

Again, sort of. There were new printed menus around, though they weren't the finalized versions since she figured someone might try to make an addition or a change or whatever. That was about all that had actually been accomplished.

Now please, distract her from her distraction, before she drives Tino insane.

Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday

Zack came into the shelter and froze in his tracks.

Some breeder had sent them a dozen bunnies.

"Oh no. How long before--"

The vet on duty told him.

"Oh no."

The signs were going up in the windows again. A Pet Is Forever and Baby Animals Grow Up!

And then they were hiding the rabbits in the back room. Not this year, irresponsible pet owners. Not this year.

Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

Well... the Easter bouquet orders had started to come in, and they were pretty predictable. Lilies, lilies, lilies. More lilies. Some daffodils. Lilies. They were going to have to place some orders, it looked like.

For, you know.

Lilies.

And apparently some venus flytraps, because one person called in to explain that Easter fell on April Fools this year, and they weren't passing up that opportunity. Nathan shrugged and wrote down the order. Hey, whatever made them happy.

Taako was still trying to get the hang of the holidays around here and Easter seemed to be the most confusing of them all. He was currently on wikipedia trying to figure out what rabbits, chocolate and a dead guy all had in common to make a holiday.

Needful Things; Tuesday [03/20].

Summer thought she'd be helpful beyond the usual dusting and sweeping by helping to put away a box of fine china that was dropped off earlier. It was a slow process; she just kept getting distracted by how beautiful they really were, with the gold edging and the flowers looked nearly lifelike, it was incredible! On one hand, she thought it was absurd that anyone would cover the beautiful work with food, but, on the other hand, it seemed incredibly dumb to just buy plates to look at and never to use. She wondered how old they might be, turning it over to check for a mark on the back that might tell the year, found other information of mild interest there, then turned it over to admire the flowers again.

Then the plate promptly slipped right out of her hand. Even the smashing sound in made was pretty.

Summer's grimace was not, however, feeling a pit in her stomach because there was no way those plates were cheap. And now she'd just smashed one on the floor. Soooo...she was just going to slide that box right where she found it under the counter, clean up the mess, and go back to sweeping and dusting like nothing ever happened, with a few whistled tunes in there to help display her complete and utter innocence.
