Furnado Animal Shelter; Thursday [05/24].

Sidon coudn't lie; he'd come into the animal shelter that day with the faint idea of perhaps trying to teach the fish how to sing like the fish from the summer camp activities. Perhaps then, if there were more singing fish, people wouldn't have to fight over the one so much, but, no, that was silly, these fish had no vocal cords and at best could just blurble rhythmically. Plus, he'd heard what some people were doing to that prize fish, and he would never want to potentially put any of his fish friends through that.

So instead, he was discovering that macramé scraps from yesterday made for excellent cat toys. He just had to keep an especially close eye on the one that kept trying to just eat them.

Community Center Class: Modern Earth Entertainment

Peter waved at everyone as they settled in. "I thought we'd start with something really old today. Movies have been around about a century now, and the technology's been advancing over that time, so the original ones didn't have sound or color and weren't as life-like as more current ones. I realize that's pretty far back for most of you, but Metropolis is still a classic despite being over ninety years old, so I hope you enjoy it."

He pressed the button on the remote for the DVD player, which started, stopped with a very non-mechanical screech, then started up again as a gremlin ran off, cackling.

"Hey!" Peter darted forward, but it was gone. The movie started playing, and it was...definitely not Metropolis, but nothing he could do would stop it or change it, so after a minute, he gave up, sighed, and said, "Okay, so we're watching this. Probably revenge for yesterday. Let's just hope it's not traumatizing."

Covent Garden Flowers, Thursday

After she had learned about Mothers' Day, Octavia had stayed away from the shop until the day had passed. She didn't need the reminder, thanks. Not at all. Hadn't talked about it to Bellamy, either.

So, she was finally back in the shop today. And making some ridiculous arrangement out of roses and tulips because that was what the order said, and who was she to argue? But she was antsy as well. Not that that was anything new, really. Just meant that it was probably time for her to take Magnus up on that offer of sparring.

A little bit of violence would do her good.

Luke's Diner, Thursday

The staff was wearing lab coats and goggles this afternoon. Because someone (Hardison was betting Parker) had let it slip that he enjoyed molecular gastronomy and after that, nothing would do but for the staff to start experimenting with it.

Hardison was pretty sure that if Eliot heard about it, this would somehow turn into his fault. Which was unfair, because the Cook had been gesticulating with the syringes before Hardison had stepped into the restaurant.

...It was possible that the aerated sous vide Hollandaise was his fault, but he wasn't going to cop to that until the last possible moment, if ever.

Did gremlin venom cause hangovers? Because Kathy felt like she had a hangover. Or maybe it was an embarrassment hangover, caused by all the blood rushing to her face and staying there.

A Southern belle. She'd been some kind of antebellum Southern belle. That had been--something else. The next time one of these summer camp things involved gremlins, she was noping out of the activity entirely, just watch her.

At least today she had a task that would keep her busy and not thinking about asking the new Korean doctor about the 'mystical far East.' They'd gotten a new selection of books in and Kathy was going planning on giving the book shelves a whole reorg. She'd shelve by genre, then by pairing, then by potential kink. Or should it be by kink then potential pairing? Eh, she'd figure it out, right after she gave all of Chuck Tingle's books a prominent place on the endcap display.

The Beach, Late Thursday Afternoon

Perhaps Octavia ought to have brought something other than her sword to the beach today. She was aware that people sometimes sparred with weapons made of wood, or ones that were otherwise made less harmful. But Octavia had never owned anything like that. And even if she had, there wasn't a chance in Hell that the island would've actually let her bring it with her.

Also she wasn't all that interested in things that weren't harmful, anyway.

So she was standing on the beach with her sword in its scabbard at her back, looking out towards the water while she waited for Magnus to show up. Time to see who could knock who off their feet.

Kaylin might have been late opening the store. (But not as late as her mun posting it!) She'd been up all night on an emergency call for the midwive's guild back home and had arrived back in Fandom exhausted, unfed, and way past when she'd planned to be here.

But she was here! If half-asleep.

And the both the baby and mother had lived.
