"Uuugh," Reno informed the store at large as he slipped behind the counter of Dite's for his shift today. "It's too friggin' hot to be hot, yo."

And then he slumped back in a seat, undoing a few more buttons of his shirt than usual.

... It was not going to be a productive day at the sex shop, no.

Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday

It was still hot, and considering all the talk about clothing - and the actual heat - Seivarden was wearing the lightest clothes she could find, which was a plain t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and the gloves that she really needed to replace.

The flowers suffered too, it seemed. They constantly needed watering, and wailed when they didn't get it fast enough.

It was a busy day.

Miguel wasn't sure what to expect this week, but it turned out it was a bunch of red, white, and blue decorations - streamers, mostly, with a few rosettes, and one baffling sign in the corner: ORANGE NOT WELCOME!

The specials board was something he could do, though, so he nodded and got down to it. After coffee.

Caritas, Saturday Evening

June had not been a good month for business. For Caritas, sure, probably. But not for Mike Lane's Custom Designs. It felt like he'd been working his ass off - he definitely hadn't been doing much else, all month long - but there'd been some setbacks that meant that he wasn't getting as much money back as he'd hoped. And subsequently wasn't really able to give his only employee everything he deserved when it came to benefits and shit. And in truth, May hadn't been that much better, either.

It was starting to get to him, a little.

So it was a pretty quiet Mike behind the counter tonight. Going over his notes on his business's finances, whenever he had the time. Seeing if he was still doing okay when you looked at the big picture.
