Oooh, see. Now, this was nice. This was real nice. This whole teaching gig was a real crap-shoot, Sweet Dee had already decided on that, so she was feeling pretty good about the fact that she'd managed to snag a second job that landed her in much more of a comfort spot: behind a bar, slinging drinks, being the cute, funny bartender who uses all these one-liners and hilarious jabs at the customers. This was her element. This was her place to really shine!

Of course, she mostly just couldn't get over how much nicer everything was in here than Paddy's. Sure, the band looked a little rough around the edges, but they were still a fair shot better off than some of the jerks they get rolling through her old bar. Everything worked the way it was supposed to, everything seemed nice and clean, and she still hadn't seen a single rat, either. This place was swanky as hell.

So, naturally, she had to pester Tino to take at least a few pictures of her taking advantage of working in a good bar for a change, so she could send it to the gang, who'd all pretty much laughed at her and took bets on whether or not she'd even last a week out there. A picture or two, with a nice, succinct message to go along with it:

Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Wednesday

Class yesterday hadn't been a disaster.

... Random ball pit aside, anyway. And Fjord was going to have to spend a bit more time working on figuring out how the Danger Shop worked from here on out, he could tell. That was what he was mulling over as he made his way in to work today, wearing, yes, that ridiculous scarf that Fenris had given him as his one concession that it wasn't exactly summer weather outside.

It was warm in here, and that was what mattered.

There were a few heavy crates waiting for him when he arrived today, and so he wasted no time getting to work, getting them in out of the doorway and finding somewhere out of the way to stack them.

Christmas was over, New Year's was over. There was over a month until the next holiday. Time to relax a bit and focus on -

The phone rang.

"Hello? Yes, of course we can do Valentine's Day deliveries."

The kitchen staff at Luke's was discussing New Year's resolutions. Lots of going to the gym and saving money and eating better, all the classics.

"How about you, boss?" the cook asked. "What's your resolution?"

Eliot flipped the knife in his hand without looking up from his meal prep. "Same thing I resolve every year: not to murder you bozos."

The kitchen staff got back to work.

Ahhh, good old inventory season. With all the 2019 models scheduled to be coming in over the next few weeks, Kathy needed to make some space on her shelves for all the new merchandise. So cue a day of cleaning and reorganizing.

...Well, after she redecorated the six-foot metal rooster statue outside, of course. She'd dressed Poppy in cutesy Christmas lingerie right before the holidays and it was high time for something more fitting!

Classy girl Kathy was, she dressed the statue in workout gear - albeit the workout gear she stocked which wasn't meant for public gyms. Or real workouts.

But it was funny because it was January and ten thousand jokes about resolutions and, okay, Kathy's sense of humor had always been a little off.
