chirpchirpchirp: (Over The Shoulder Smirk)
[personal profile] chirpchirpchirp
Well, if ever there was a good week to be working in a shop that sold guns, Vette figured this was probably the one. Not that she minded what was going on out there.

... At all, really. Sure, it was a horrible irradiated wasteland, and she took some exception to that fact, but she'd been bored for ages, and this was a fun irradiated wasteland!

Vette also had a skewed concept of 'fun.'

Anyway, she was at work, slapping a few mods on one of the guns and plotting Wicked Birthday Schemes for her roommate, but she was totally interruptable if anybody needed weapons.

... Or to meditate, sure.

Kanan wasn't going to be getting much done by way of meditating this week, no. But it was Friday, and Friday was 'at the warehouse' day. Well, 'at the warehouse or at the park' day, but he'd much prefer to throw down against giant scorpions than risk igniting his lightsaber anywhere remotely near that bomb, and so that was what he was doing.

Throwing down.

Against giant scorpions.

It made for great training, anyway. And the alternative, to attempt to connect to them through the Force and ask them to play nicely, had mostly just resulted in amused scorpions trying to kill the little meaty thing, so they'd really sort of brought this upon themselves anyway.

Well, Fjord had made it in to work today just fine, at least. Didn't have to swim or get his ass stuck in a window in order to do it, either. He'd consider that a win.

What he wasn't considering a win, of course, was the fact that every bottle he picked up turned into some variation of Nuka-Cola. Hell, if he picked up a Nuka-Cola, it turned into a different Nuka-Cola. Seemingly at random, too, so if anybody wanted, say, cherry, he'd have to just keep trying until he got it right.

At least whatever was on tap was... more or less right.

Well. As right as it got in this place they'd wound up in, anyway.

... He maintained that this was okay entirely because of the window thing, though.

Well, Prompto hadn't been wrong in thinking that Sidon would find the current state of the fish at the shelter (and the birds and several of the other animals) rather heartbreaking and sad, but he most certainly didn't blame himself because he knew his tank-cleaning skills were top-notch.

Besides, the whole place made him feel a little heartbroken and sad, and it wasn't even the sharp drop from having the island as basically his water-filled playground to barely even feeling like he could trust the water in his own tank. Everything felt so bleak and empty and sparse, and it reminded him of little pockets around Hyrule that had never quite recovered from the Calamity as much as some others had. It really made him wonder...was that what it was like? After the Champions failed to defeat Calamity Ganon and destruction ran rampant across the land? He had been so young back then--a mere twenty-five!--and sheltered closely in the protected arms of Zora's Domain, so he never witnessed it firsthand, only afterwards, when he was a little older, able to venture out on his own every now and again, after the rebuilding and recovery efforts had been in full swing.

And he tried not to think about whether or not Hyrule might look like this once again, should they fail to find a solution to finally destroy Calamity Ganon, once and for all.

They were rather heavy thoughts, the sort Sidon didn't usually like to carry around for too long, but even he found it was difficult to drop them where every turn around every corner made it vastly obvious and present. Still, there were animals to take care of, even if they looked like they'd been through an awful lot, and Sidon dedicated himself to doing the best he could to make their day a little brighter and happier, even under the circumstances.

Especially the fish. But he did have a bit of a bias that way.

Yesterday's expedition into the wasteland had been fairly successful. They'd got what they were looking for, fought a few monsters, and no one had been horrifically injured.

So Liam was in a pretty good mood when he made his way to the Trooper Station today. At least, until he settled into his desk and found the drawers full of nothing but pencils, duct tape, and empty file folders.

Also the singing frogs were back, only instead of three frogs belting out Ed Sheeran songs, it was now one, three-headed frog.

Hera was back at the scrapyard today, sorting through more inexplicably primitive bits and bobs to see if any of it was actually useful. Some of the flying nasties had gotten bold enough to try landing, so the bitey bits were having a field day.

And one of them refused to let her groom the rust off, running away whenever she tried.

Well, if it wanted to stay rusty, she wasn't going to stop it.
