Despite a few hiccups (which never really bothered him much anyway), yesterday's entire rose escapade had been wildly successful in Shunsui's opinion, and he still had so many more, which he suspected might come in handy still in the next few days, assumming they didn't start wilting away too quickly. He still had one tucked behind his ear, but, of course, he'd eschewed his hat and haori and his robes and his swords (but not his sake!) for the onsen, and gratefully so, as he let out a deep, pleased sigh as he sunk into the water, resting his arms on the edge behind him. Closed his eyes. Soaked it all in. Flirted with the suggestion of a nap that hit almost immediately, and chuckled a little to himself. He'd done a lot yesterday. Helped out a friend in a dire situation and brightened up the day of several beautiful ladies (some of them more handwaved than others) and had his own evening brightened significantly by one of those ladies in return, and so he deserved this. He'd earned it.

It would be a good soak. And, as he'd said the other day, if Octavia-chan were to join him (or anyone else, for that matter), then that would only make it that much better.

And little did he know, just how grateful he'd be later on that he'd actually taken some time to relax before all hell came crashing down on him...

[[ you know I'm a sucker for a good onsen post. and the fact that this boyo hasn't even had one yet is a damn crime. IT'S OPEN Y'ALL. ]]

Hannibal had taught class (more or less), and he was in town for the weekend, so he opened his practice an extra day. He didn't know if anybody would show up, but if they did, he might get to hear some interesting stories, and if they didn't...well, he had a letter to write for Sparkle.

So he would be here regardless, ignoring the sparkly flamingos outside the window, listening to music, and drinking coffee. It wasn't a bad way to spend the day.

This weekend there would be strangers coming around.

Well, probably not strangers to the people they were visiting, but Hera didn't know them.

So she was going to spend today trying to make sure that the scrapyard wasn't particularly dangerous to anybody who might wander in, the unused docks were ready for use, and anything particularly incriminating was completely out of sight.

The bitey bits were "helping".

"No, leave that! Leave it. Rusty..."

Sidon was not expecting any guests this year; Muzu was really the only one would would be coming, but after that first year, the royal advisor had decided that he had even less of an interest dealing with Earth and humans than he had dealing with the Hylians back home, and, clearly, the prince was thriving and doing fine, so his monitoring would be unnecessary, and, besides, any of his opinions would be worthless since the prince would likely just ignore them anyway, so what was even the point? It would have been nice to perhaps have some other Zoras visit, especially since he knew several of them were rather curious, but it was nice to be able to hopefully focus on meeting some of his friends' guests instead. Meeting new people was almost always a joy!

In the meantime, though, since it was Friday, Sidon would be hard at work at the shelter, taking care of the usual tasks and the stocking of things up on the higher shelves with an easy he knew that neither Prompto nor Zack could pull off quite as easily as he could, and he rather enjoyed doing it, besides.

It would likely be a nice, quiet day, and there was nothing wrong with that, either!

Keyleth, secure in the knowledge that she wouldn't be getting any surprise visitors this weekend, was humming cheerfully to herself as she moved around the shop today.

And maybe setting out a few floral arrangements with themes such as "I'm Really Sorry About the Gremlin Bite," "Sure, This Place Is Weird But Here, Look at the Pretty Flowers," and "Apologies For Thinking Your Roommate Was Going to Gnaw on My Head."

Look, you never knew around here.

[OOC: Excuse me I just have to flail about how there are going to be ACTUAL CRITICAL ROLE FUNKO POPS AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. But oh yeah, post is open!]

Well, it looked like none of the gang could come and visit Vette this weekend, after all. It seemed like they'd gotten a tip about a good mark, and they'd waffled about it for a while before Vette told them to just go for it, because how many times would they have a chance at rescuing another Twi'lek relic from offworld thieves who just happened to be passing off the goods on Nar Shaddaa?

The upside about living on the Smuggler's Moon, after all, was that it really did give easy access to the smugglers.

But that meant that Vette was one of the handful of locals with nobody to visit her this weekend, which meant that Vette was hard at work today, tuning up her blasters and seeing if she could up the firepower on them or something while she was at it. Maybe if she tweaked the charge from the power pack as it created the plasma...

Wellspring Arms was open, and Vette probably wasn't going to burn the place down.

Fjord's only real regret about working at Caritas was that generally he was expected to be on his best behavior. Fortunately, he'd gotten a lot of his anxiety about this weekend out of his system yesterday while swinging a hammer, which meant today he was just sort of flat about this whole visitors from off the island thing. Not that he was dreading meeting anybody's guests (although, yes, he sort of was that too), but the knowledge that he wouldn't have anybody here to visit him rubbed at him strangely.

It had been a while since the days he had nobody he could at least hope for a check-in from. Sure, he had friends on the island, but coming to the bar for a drink on a Friday night hardly counted as going out of their way for his sake. And he wasn't going to let himself even flirt with the thought that Vandran might come strolling through that door to clap him on the shoulder and tell him that he better be reaching to pour him a drink or something. Hell, at this point he'd even take Jester, and he'd only known Jester for a week or so before the island had grabbed him.

Ah well. Potentially serving drinks to other people's guests would have to do.

... Not yours, Tino.

So... Kanan didn't have his lightsaber out in the park today. Sure, he had it with him. He always had it with him, though it wasn't in any recognizable sort of shape, separated in two different pieces on his belt. He had brought his bag of bamboo training swords, though, because it wasn't sword club (shut up, Seivarden) without swords.

Just... not the recognizable sword. The Jedi dead giveaway.

Not until he could be sure he wasn't going to find himself within ten meters of a surprise Darth Vader again, anyway. The only weekends that had him more paranoid than welcome picnic weekends, after all, were Parents' Weekend ones.

Hell, he was even trying to avoid any established Jedi forms today, mostly taking some time today to try to run through some kendo patterns he was pausing every now and again to look up on his phone for reference. You know. In order to be sure he was doing it right, because it never hurt to broaden his horizons in as un-Jedi a way as possible for no obvious reason right when the island was about to be flooded by strangers, potentially from his own galaxy.

Shh.

[OOC: Open! And ahahahaha derp I forgot about the picnic. Let's assume Kanan's staked out a spot in the park well away from the hubbub, shall we?]

Hopefully, everyone in Fandom was ready for their guests, because everything was ready for the guests at the park. The weather was behaving (although it still wasn't fall, grumble grumble) and there was a tasteful amount of glitter around the food and decorations. The banner, however, was all glittered out as hung over the entrance:

Welcome to Parents' Weekend 2019!

Yes, the Insomnia Boys had a hotel room for the night. It was, ironically, just a standard room (only the best for the crown prince of Lucis!), which meant two bed for three guys, and that had prompted a debate on exactly who would be sharing the bed and who would get the single. The debate was heated and, when it was decided that a civil agreement simply could not be reached between the three of them (four, technically, although Prompto was impartial and knew he could just duck out to his own bed, thank you very much, though he didn't really plan to, like, at all), they decided on an alternate solution instead:

They'd go camping in the preserve.

Where they'd all be sleeping in the same tent.

It made sense to them, okay??

Gladio had (inexplicably) managed to bring all of his fine, excellent, top-of-the-line ColemanTM brand gear, after all, and it would be a shame not to use it! The weather was nice, and Prompto was really stoked about the chance to prove to them all that there really weren't daemons to worry about at night here, and just wait until they saw the stars out here, they were amazing, and he'd run to the store and pick up things for s'mores (which lead to Ignis handing him a list of other things to pick up, too, because now he'd come up with a new recipe), and it would just be great!

Just four Insomnia boys camping out in the wilderness of a world where doing so didn't mean certain death at the hand of horrible creatures unless you camped out in a very specific spot...

...and whoever else might so happen to come along.

[[ like I could pass up the chance for some good old FF XV camping! It's totes canon! And it's totally open for anyone who might like to join or just wander through! ]]
