Miguel showed up for work with his face and one arm bruised all over, limping slightly, and looking incredibly disgruntled.

The cook opened their mouth.

"Don't." Miguel held up one finger with a talon out. "Just cook."

The cook gave the dishwasher a look, shrugged, and went back to cooking.

Miguel made coffee.

The diner was open.

The Onsen; Saturday Afternoon [11/09].

Day Two had been quite a bit more eventful than Day One in Shunsui's absrud little onsen notion, so he was interested to see what Day Three would bring him, other than perhaps a few questioning looks from the staff that had realized he had, indeed, been there three days in a row. But now he had something to look forward to on Day Four, when those looks were likely to get even a little more baffled and maybe even a little concerned.

It was, however, at this point, lowering himself into the water again and getting comfortable with his sake jug and its little cups close at hand, that he realized he didn't actually know when Octavia-chan's appointment for her tattoo even was. For all he knew, he could be doing this for a while. But, as far as Big Stupid Gestures went, this was incredibly simple and effortless, which made it the best kind of Big Stupid Gesture, as far as he was concerned.

Now, if only he could think of a situation where he could make the promise to just do nothing but sleep for a week...

Ahh, but a man could dream! And this man was likely to be doing just that in a short while after getting wonderfully comfortable and relaxed.

And he never did bother messaging Apu-san back. If whatever it was at the store was still an issue, Janet-chan seemed a very capable girl, it would be good for her to have the experience...

Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday

So, Seivarden was the owner of a flower shop. She wasn't sure how to feel about that. It was humiliating, but less so than being an employee, and certainly less so than the jobs she had been assigned when she had just got out of the escape pod.

Today, there were butterflies, a pleasant amount of them, and a small murmuring fountain, and she started to make tea. Not those awful cinnamon-flavoured teabags Peter had left her - she was going to assume they weren't an insult - but a quite good one. Hopefully Tisarwat would show up with her really good tea, beautiful tea set, and a proper flask.

Groovy Tunes, Saturday

Today the stereo played what Breq assumed was very old music, considering the history of this planet. About as old as she was, she guessed. It was pleasant, in a monotonous way, and she hummed along, while dusting the shelves, making sure there was tea for any customers who might show up.
