And in the middle of the night, the island decided it had had enough of this little vacation, and moved again.

Of course animals could sense when things were about to happen and so the villagers had packed up and gotten out before this happened. Let's face it, as much as they liked it here, they wouldn't have been able to handle a single one of Fandom's invasions, anyway. They'd still be very sorry not to say goodbye to all of their new friends.

Once the island was back in its rightful place, the bells converted back to money, the fruit disappeared off the trees and the fish out of the pond, and the airport suddenly disappeared.

Oddly, the Fandom Museum remained in place at 68 Serendipity Place, where an awake Blathers had decided that his priority was the museum, even if it had all these dreadful bugs in it.

Welcome back! Tell the truth, it's weird without the music now, isn't it?

[And that's it for Animal Crossing! Thank you so much for playing along! <3 ]

Rey hadn't minded the week at all, but she was also more than ready to be back to normal. She didn't have any trees to shake or bugs to catch on her way in, and when she got there she found a note on the door from someone begging her to fix the half-exploded popcorn machine outside of town hall.

...At least things were their usual sort of weird then.

Rey got to work, and realized about two minutes in that she still had the music in her head.

Silver was so happy to find that horrible music wasn't playing anymore. He liked to think he had a great deal of patience but that had almost broken him. Which was an embarrassing thing to be broken by.

Anyway, it was over now so it was a much more relaxed Silver behind the bar than last week.

It was hot, but the twins had basically bugged Jaina to go to the park all morning so she figured they'd tire themselves out at the playground quickly and then that'd be that.

Of course Daniel stopped at the pond first, told her there were fish, then cried when she told him the fish were gone.

And now with that done and forgotten about, she was with them on the playground, trying to help them on the equipment. Wow did her life get different.

Beau wasn't going to lie, she was kind of going to miss having pockets of holding (she could've fit so much bacon in there) and all the weird shit like getting furniture out of trees, and the cool pair of blue sneakers she'd found in a present attached to a balloon. She was, however, totally fine not having to deal with overly friendly penguins who claimed to be obsessed with working out, or disturbingly adorable deer who shared her name, or anything like that.

But the regular music at the gym was back, and she'd gladly take the same fifteen damn songs over and over all day in place of the constant bright, soothing background instrumentals that had not gone away for a week.

Today's issue: some skeevy guy she'd never seen before, who came in from the mainland purportedly in search of a new gym. It was quickly apparent that he actually didn't have the slightest bit of interest in actually working out, but that he was taking an interest in several of the regulars and making them uncomfortable. And you know what, she was going to have to take her own initiative lol meta D&D joke and just handle this right now. Not because it'd be so personally satisfying. Not just because of that. Making places better than how she found them was a good thing to do, just like Molly used to say, right?

Which was how she ended up goading Skeevy Guy into a sparring match (hey, look, her talent for irritating people legitimately came in handy for once) and, as soon as she'd hit him enough times to get a read on the flow of his spiritual energy, tapped into some of her own to disrupt his, and stun him for a few seconds.

"I'm preemptively revoking the membership you never got around to signing up for, man, and kicking you out," Beau announced, cracking her knuckles. "I can literally fucking punch the truth out of you, just saying, so unless you want me to grill you on why you really want to sign up --"

That was right about when her stunning strike wore off, and he took off for the front door like his ass was on fire.

"Dammit," Beau grumbled. "I really wanted a chance to try the truth-punching thing out."

Oh well. At least she felt pretty confident about that asshole not coming back.

[OOC: *attempts to get back into the regular swing of this* Extort Truth really is an ability for Beau's particular monastic tradition: for one minute you literally cannot lie. NGL I really do want a chance to try it out in game someday. Anyway. Open, with likely daytime SP!]
