Groovy Tunes; Tuesday [07/21].
Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 06:20 amExpecting a quiet day, as usual, Tisarwat had made herself some tea, put on some classical music in the style of what she imagined Lucille would play at her piano, and settled behind the counter with the book Lucille had lent her the other day. It had been a while since she really settled in to read an actual book, so she expected it would be a light way to pass the time between the rare customer and sips of tea.
She supposed she shouldn't be surprised that the density of the language pulled her in immediately, and the story itself ensured her entrapment. She barely even noticed her tea going cold, caught up in this tale of a briiliant mind disgusted by what he has created, and the frustration and anger and devistation of a creature dismissed and shunned by that which gave it life. It was not difficult at all, after all, to draw parallels between this story and the duality of her own mind, one part of her all too familiar with the anguish and fear of the doctor faces with what he had created, and the other sympathetic and guilty for the misery of the so-called monster...
The whole thing was going to give her a terrible headache later, and make her incredibly awkward around her roommate, but for now, she was just drawn in by the story, almost forgetting entirely that she was technically supposed to be working...
