special_rabbit: (FORGE!)

Amaya's latest project had taken her back into dipping her toes a bit into the world of carpentry, meaning the forge was filled with a lot more wood than usual, and even though she'd gotten quite a few pieces cut and sanded and ready for polishing and putting together, she was actually back at the anvil for a good part of the day, too, beating out long pieces of blue-grey metal that were related to the table, and were honestly the most exciting part about the table, if you asked her, assuming the whole thing came together the way she was planning it to in her mind.

Which things like this usually did, but...well, there was only one way to find out! And getting these nice, long straight edges to perfection was going to take a skilled, deft hand.

Good thing she had two of 'em!

The Forge is open!

Jaye was having a day. She was all bruised from getting shot up by psychos with paintballs yesterday and then... then there'd been the moose.

"So there's been a misunderstanding," she began. "My name's Jaye, and I thought when I was offered this class that 'philosophy' was code for 'showing a movie,' only it turns out there's actually another class that's explicitly about showing movies and mine is actually about philosophy. Who knew.

"Anyway, I actually did go to Brown and have a degree in this, but my day job also means I have my name stitched onto my shirt, so I am qualified to do this, sort of. But since I'm wildly unprepared, why don't we start with the introductions, and you can start by telling me why you thought this was a good idea for yourself."

Sabine had classes, and she was trying to finish up the fireworks for tomorrow, and she had to work. It was a lot, but she was sure she could manage it.

But since she couldn't work on the first two things at the third thing, let the record show that she'd totally had a much better paintball gun overnighted and she was painting it at work. She had a project in mind, okay.

After class, Miles went back to his room and packed up some of his supplies and headed off into town. Part of it was to just get a feel for this town and learn where everything was. The more important part was to find a place where he could claim some wall space and just put up some art.

Coming from Brooklyn to a small town was a very weird experience. No tall buildings. Rickshaws instead of cars. No one rushing around and avoiding eye contact. For a guy who barely set foot out of Brooklyn, this might as well be an alien world.

It wasn't until he got to the warehouse area that he started to feel any kind of familiarity. It was pretty clear this area had a lot of use. He saw paint up on various buildings, some buildings were locked and there was one building with a lot of wood chucks inside. (Which really chucked wood. Miles thought that was just an expression.) It took a bit but he finally found one that was abandoned with no art work on it. Shrugging off his pack he pulled out his spray paint and went to work on something that reminded him of home

Hopefully the troopers weren't going to bust him for doing graffiti.

There was a paint-splattered guy sprawled out on one of the park benches, using his backpack as a pillow.

...look, Booker kept meaning to get housing sorted out, he did. It was just that he didn't feel like he deserved a hotel room stuff kept coming up. And now here he was. Covered in paint. Sleeping on a park bench.

Eric had already tuned out Tiny's chattering about the paintball yesterday as he sat at the bar and scrolled through a ton of pretentiously named craft beers for sale.

"We should do an Oktoberfest," he declared to no one, "but only with the names of beers that amuse me. We'll need a lot of Arrogant Bastard Ale."

For reasons. He had no idea why Tiny was glancing at him and snorting.

The Devil's Nest was open!

Well, it turned out that the message Lucifer had received a few weeks ago hadn't been a fluke. His phone had started lighting up sometime yesterday, hitting him with text messages from, apparently, months ago.

So here he was, sitting at JGoB's - home to the only acceptable God - with a plate loaded up with chocolate croissants, paging through said messages. Was he answering any of them?

... well, Miss Lopez was sending him a great deal of amusing gifs and videos, so he was honour-bound to respond in kind. Everything else, though, he was putting off.

While putting away another chocolate croissant.

"Heee. A sea... horse. Now I get it."
