Covent Garden Flowers; Tuesday [02/16].

In the post-Valentine's Day aftermath, the flower shop looked like a warzone.

Literally, as it seemed that there was an actual War of the Roses going on inside the shop today, with battle lines being drawn and thorns flying like sharpnel as they waged their attacks and tried to recruit various tulips and carnations and bonsai into the fray.

Astrid was going to stay decidedly out of it, letting the flora fend for themselves, while putting up a helpful sign on the door to anyone coming in to please enter with caution. The path to the counter was clear, though, having been marked as a Nuetral Zone, so there was at least that, and behind the counter was considered a santuary, so Astrid could sit in relative peace, occasionally watching to see how exactly flowers strategized their attacks (could this be helpful in her Art of War class somehow?), sketching out the more dramatic moments, and flipping through a book of Japanese phrases she picked up at the library in preparation for next week.

And here she thought she might be bored after the big Valentine's Day rush.

Tisarwat was expecting a quiet day at the shop; almost all the days were quiet, especially now that the headphone mess had been moved to the basement, and that actually suited her just fine, because that meant she could spend a better portion of her day enjoying some nice tea while shifting through the records and tripping down a rabbit hole that started with the recommendation that Lucifer had made to her at Three Minute Dates for something she could start practicing on the piano now so by the time it came around to ask Lucille to teach her, it would seem that she was just that quick on picking it up.

Look, it had been working fairly well so far, and she assumed Lucille would eventually pick up on the fact that Tisarwat was clearly putting in a lot of extra practice outside of their lessons, but until then...

Faye had pulled something off over the weekend that she hadn't actually managed to do since she'd arrived on Earth, and the joy of a successful wallet-theft (though 'wallet' was such a generous term) made it kind of difficult to will herself into work today.

She was here, yes, but she was also playing on her phone and trying to figure out if she could sell Nick's driver's license to a teenager or something. Waste not, want not.

Kitty walked into the bar and found it decked out in red, white and blue, with Tino donning an Uncle Sam outfit, complete with hat.

"Presidents Day was yesterday," Kitty told him, to his utter disappointment.

The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

The weekend had been a bit uneven, but it had come out all right somewhere in the middle. (Duke's redecorating really had been epic.)

But processing the events of the past few weeks - or quarter-processing them, as was Lucifer's wont - was a thing all on its own, and his mind was drifting somewhere pensive again.

Obviously, that couldn't stand.

"Just put the Manhattan and a Fitzgerald on the specials board," he dictated to Tiny. "A conversation last weekend has me thinking First Lady of Jazz this week."

Tiny sighed, but did as he was told.
