Soooo, yesterday had been pretty fucking great barring any unexpected sp jossing, anyway, maybe not exactly Summer's completely perfect idea of how she'd have liked thigns to go, but she wasn't honestly expecting things to be that kind of perfect, especially not with eventually dropping in a different milestone to contend with.

Dinner with the family this weekend. It was out there now. The plans were already in motion. Jerry was probably scouring the internet for vegetarian recipes right now as they spoke. There was no going back on it now.

Well, there was. But it would definitely require a very highly elaborate scheme and series of events that Summer was starting to toy with for a few ideas that would probably get even more elaborate the closer they got to Saturday. She just hoped that the timing worked out well, because if things turned out to be the inevitable disaster she was expecting them to be, then she could just throw herself fully into the school trip to avoid having to think about it too much.

In her distraction, she'd popped one of the toothpicks from a box that had been broken upon arrival, trying to decide if she wanted to send it back for a refund or just, like, give it to Astrid because she was pretty sure she could use it to make some art or something, and then started up a new podcast to listen to while she did her inventory and ordering. It seemed like it would be a good distraction from thinking, really, and she was right, that thing was sucking her right in to the point where she'd even forgotten about the toothpick until she caught her reflection in one of the cooler doors and stopped a moment to note how actually that looked pretty cool. She could totally be a toothpicker, actually...

Or maybe she was just focusing on something tangental to avoid thinking too much on something tangible.

After a weekend with a social event like the three minute dates, and then a holiday many couples enjoyed celebrating, Seivarden expected this to be a quiet night. She was in a good mood though, having enjoyed Saturday at Caritas, and then having Prompto crash on the couch and hence the apartment being livelier than usual. She really did like her place being busy, being used to life on Mercy of Kalr, although a military vessel in most other respects was very different.

Despite this, she hadn't been inspired to teach herself to make a new drink, and resorted to an old favourite as a special.

Mimosa night

"Did you have a nice Valentine's Day?" Annie was in a fantastic mood today, and it showed in not only how cheerfully she asked Tiny that question, but it everything she did.

Which might have explained why Tiny grunted a noncommittal answer and made his way down the bar, away from Annie's fairly annoying humming.

She took that to mean no, and while nothing would get her to throttle her mood, she did at least sensitively make sure to give Tiny his space. She didn't want to hurt his feelings if he was sad about Valentine's Day.

[open, slowish, and flying OCD-free because I am enjoying the laaaaaaziest day off ever.]

When Stark exited his apartment today there were a few somewhat worse for wear carnations outside the door along with a glittery pawprint. Were the raccoons getting bolder? Or just aware that leaving the flowers outside might have damaged them further? Stark was trying not to think too hard on it and was instead just going to head to the coffee shop.

Stark drank more tea than coffee so his apartment was well-stocked with teas (not all ones that would live up to the standards of someone like Seivarden, but still plenty of teas). He preferred getting coffee from the shop.

Today there was a pistachio latte on the specials board so he had ordered one of those and found himself an empty table. He had pulled a small pad of paper and a pen out of a pocket, though the paper remained blank.

[Open coffee shop is super open. I've got the day off.]

This evening, rather than be waiting for her class to show up at the tent, Nina was already up on the new scaffolding she'd ordered into being. What? Put it up normally? Psh, no, never going to happen when magic made that way easier.

Besides, it was pretty exciting that the walls were high enough to need scaffolding. Who could blame her for being up on it and not waiting for everyone?

"Goooooooooood eveeeeeeeeeeeeeniiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she announced, grinning down at her class. "Look at us, getting walls up so that they look like walls instead of just fences with aspirations!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She was bursting with pride about it all.

"Get geared up and get up here!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've got a castle to build!!!!!!!!!!!!! And starting now it's going to take a lot of climbing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

While bringing blocks up too! Nina had brought some up already (with magic) because she wasn't entirely a monster but, like, that wasn't going to last the whole class…

Everyone should just be glad the blocks weren't as heavy as they ought to be until they were stacked into place.

Steve, blissfully sling free for the first time since December, was leading the troopers on a truncated version of a Navy SEAL morning warmup.

The Troopers had not missed this in the slightest. It was February and they'd done wet pushups in the surf.

They paid Steve back by drinking all of the hot coffee the moment the pot was ready.

Take that, Steve.

The Trooper Station was open! And grumpy.
