Covent Garden Flowers, Friday (2/19)

After the hectic nature of her last couple of shifts, it was a little bit odd this week for Yasha to have to adjust to a slightly more sedate work pace today. Not that she expected it to last with a number of flower-related holidays coming up in the next couple of months, but it was nice to have a few minutes just to breathe.

And she was going to enjoy that; she hadn't had the time to spare to do much reading for the past month or so, and she had every intention of having fun with it, the few minutes at a time that she got to set aside for flipping through a chapter or two.

Astrid had some notes from Summer for some new signs for the next few days, which didn't take her long to put together and was actually a nice and relaxing way to start her shift.

Not that she expected her shift would be anything but nice and relaxing, especially compared to the warzone that had been the flower shop earlier that week, but still. She'd noticed another pack of postcards were gone from the box, too, which gave her a small smile and a reason to settle in to paint a new batch, mostly of the turtle and the canary and then a set of different cheeses inspired by the panda.

Blackstone Foundry and Forge; Friday [02/19].

Amaya had...a few...okay, maybe, like, half a dozen loose-end projects around the shop that she figured she'd better get tied up before taking off for a week on the school trip, where she was fully expecting to take every opportunity she could to dig deep into Japan's fascinating use of weaponry and armor. Knowing what she knew about the place, she was expecting to come back charged with all sorts of new ideas, so she didn't want any lingering projects to distract her.

Finishing up what she had started wasn't the hard part.

Making sure she didn't get distracted by a spark of a new idea and get something else started, however....

Nose to the grindstone, Blackstone! Finish the current shinies before getting yourself all distracted with future one!

Trooper Station, Friday

There had, apparently, been a rash of thefts around the island through the night. Nothing of actual value had been stolen, but the complaints were rolling in about, in no particular order, missing:

Pants buttons
Tabs from the tops of soda cans
Fridge lightbulbs
Tupperware lids
Keyrings (not, it should be noted, the keys themselves, just whatever item was being used to group them together)
Stickers on the router with the wifi password
Ice cube trays

Liam was, naturally, doing due diligence and sending the Troopers out to interview the complainants. Because immediately jumping to the conclusion that it was the work of the raccoons would be profiling, and that wouldn't do.

Stark, who was certainly not still avoiding trying to call Moya and her inhabitants, found himself at the bakery this morning. Not out of an attempt at avoiding anything. He just really liked the bakery. He always had.

He was, however, eyeing the selection of phone-shaped cookies in the bakery case a little suspiciously.

"Why?" he asked, finally.

"Got new cookie cutters yesterday," was the answer. "Figured we should test'em out. You want one?"

Stark shook his head, ordered a orange cupcake instead, and found an empty table.


[I kept myself home from work today because yesterday I spent the day wanting to Godzilla stomp everything and nobody wants more of that. Open post is open!]

Fandom Fire Station, Friday

Travis was working on familiarizing himself with the island. Looking for the fastest routes between points, in the event of, say, a psycho setting a luggage bonfire in the middle of a business district.

(Was it sad that he was kind of hoping that was a regular occurrence?)

He had a bunch of maps spread out on the reception desk and was looking them over while eating lunch. Apparently the station had a number of them, dating back over the last fifteen years.

"The hell does 'pre-Nothing' mean?" he mused out loud, then flipped to an older map. ". . . Oh good, half the island is built on fill land. Because that never goes wrong."

The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

Lucifer arrived at the Devil's Nest fairly late, for his standards, after spending most of the day with Octavia - and chances were he'd leave early-ish to spend the night with her, as well.

But for the time being, the Devil was back in his nest, sitting behind the piano with a nice martini and some of recent history's least ear-torturing piano-pop.

And questioning Tiny's choices.
