Covent Garden Flowers; Wednesday [08/25].
Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 05:47 amGoing into work that Wednesday had been a little bit of a challenge for Astrid; if it was her T&C shift, it might have been different, but Claire had been particularly thrilled at the idea of Astrid working among all these flowers and was naturally enamoured with the whole place, picking out an arrangement that was already starting to droop its way toward being pressed into a book, sitting on Astrid's bedside table, next to her oleander.
She'd noticed, of course, that when they'd stopped in over the weekend, the oleander seemed to have made itself sparse. A temporary truce, of sorts? But as she suspected, they were back in full force that Wednesday, and Astrid couldn't help feeling like it was some sort of reminder, as if the universe was afraid she'd lose the conviction that had settled into her as a result of the weekend.
If she didn't hear back from Susan Valeris by Friday, she would reach out to her instead.
And she would tell her that no amount of money or promises would convince her to testify for Ingrid. She might even actively testify against her. The library here probably had an excellent law section she could start digging into, really...
Either way, before setting to her tasks for the day, Astrid made sure to put the 10% off to anyone who brings me a coffee sign out on the door again, because it had actually been working great so far, really.
Covent Garden is open!
