Fix and Clean Shop- Mid-day Saturday

Fandom had a lot of quirks and oddities, but one thing the island evidently was not immune to, despite all the craziness, was the oppressive heat mid-day still brought, despite it being almost Fall. With temperatures still high and the humidity annoyingly high, doing much of anything outdoors in the middle of the day was a bit of a challenge. Dwight was 'trying' to be productive in his workshop but it wasn't going too well.

At that moment, he was taking inventory and seeing what needed to be ordered and what other supplies he still needed to get organized.  Dwight had gotten down to his jeans and a sleeveless shirt, and he was debating just peeling that off if he thought it would really make that much of a difference. At least he didn't feel like he was melting right then. That was an improvement right?

Well. Their ward work could certainly have gone worse, but it also could have gone much better. As it was, Eliot finally had some decent changes of clothes, thanks to Lucifer's tailor on the mainland -- and more coming besides, assuming they didn't find a way back to Fillory before his bespoke order was complete -- and he and Margo both had some excellent champagne in which to drown their sorrows.

While receiving the very best facials modern Earth technology -- and a little bit of magic -- had to offer.

"I will say one thing for this backwards little not-tropolis," Eliot said, as the mud mask worked its magic on his pores, "it does not lack for amenities."

Luke's Diner, Saturday

Miguel had spent the last several days convinced someone was mad at him, and unable to put on anything that didn't turn into leather. (Not to mention he hadn't known Spanish, but at least that only bothered him in retrospect.)

Today he needed a lot of coffee, and if anybody disagreed with his choice, they could suck it up. It was the one variety of pumpkin thing he liked, and he was going to do it.

Which didn't mean he wouldn't subject other people to pumpkin overload.

The Perk - Saturday Morning

After completing his morning run, Goose decided to head to the Perk and ordered a pumpkin spice latte, it turned out he quite liked them. Unlike the last time, he was now wearing shoes and speaking without dramatic pauses.

If Goose was being honest, the past few days didn’t even make into the top ten most embarrassing things that had happened to him but it had been an interesting first week back at Fandom that was for sure.

He found a table to sit at and pulled out his data PADD to begin writing his first weekly report back to Commander Walsh. Walsh had wanted the reports to be as normal as possible so he didn’t have to explain to the higher ups about Fandom, so Goose didn’t mind leaving out some of the events of the past week.

Around the Island [Sunday at dawn]

The sun came up over the island in incredible shades of pink and yellow, igniting everything it touched with a golden light that seemed to shimmer a bit.

It might be actually shimmering: a lot of glitter had been spilled on this island over the years. The light lingered along the dorms, defying physics to touch each window and student slumbering inside. It was important that they felt special today.

Presents appeared in closets, on the school lawn, and in the causeway parking lot: the island sharing her day with everyone.
