Sakaki had had a rather eventful if handwavey weekend, and she felt like maybe she needed some time to process it all, but she had to go into work today, so hopefully she would have some downtime to do just that instead of hopping right into the next weird thing.

Because it had started out very well, once you got past the fact that one of her instructors was just a small shouty boy bent on evil, but that instructor had tasked her and Kiem with taking care of the dog, which was pretty much the best thing ever, even if she had other classes to get through first before she could join her classmate in watching the dog.

And then, on Saturday, something terrible had happened! The dog had just disappeared! They had spent the whole day, practically, looking for the puppy, searching high and low, but to no avail! Thankfully, they hadn't run into Small Shouty Instructor in the meantime, either, but since Saturday yeilded no results and, on Sunday, Sakaki was clearly distracted by apparently her Very Big and Adorable Birthday Party...there was a good chance that the dog was long gone by now, and their simple instructions for the class had failed. At least they would have until Friday to figure out how they would break the news...

It was while Sakaki was getting particularly sad about this detail and where the poor pup had gone, that she looked up to see a familiar face looking back at her from the puppy pen. She blinked, sitting up straight, hardly able to believe her eyes.

"Colonel Bahamutt!" she realized, dashing out from behind the counter where she sat to go to him. "You came back!"

This was not, in fact, Colonel Bahamutt, because Colonel Bahamutt had never actually existed. It was, however, a rather happy coincidence that there was a puppy at the shelter that almost exactly resembled Colonel Bahamutt to a T. Sakaki was just relieved that someone had apparently found the lost dog and done what any good person would do by returning him to the shelter so that either he could be cared for or his own could come find him, and that he seemed to be in very good shape, and that his adventure clearly hadn't been too traumatic, and once she was done showering the dog with affection, she texted Kiem to let him know that she found their charge, he was healthy and doing well at the animal shelter, and so they had not failed their assignment after all!

Well, not entirely.

Losing the dog in the first place wasn't great, but everything worked out in the end!

Jon had woken up far too early to get to the radio station. He hadn't even had time for tea first. So he was remedying that now.

Fortunately, the coffee shop had tea. He ordered Earl Grey with a bit of milk and sugar, and it wasn't as good as Martin's (though he might be somewhat biased there), but it was hot and caffeinated.

Once he thought of Martin, though, he could practically hear him insisting that sitting in the flat all day wasn't healthy. He wavered a bit, then sighed and sat at a table. He could stay out at least until he finished his tea before heading home.

Margo was still pissed off about last week’s shitshow. But with Eliot back, and the causeway open, she had other shit to worry about. She was a complicated person. She could hold two frustrating thoughts in her head at the same time.

She was kinda glad she’d taken that internet magic elective a couple years back. The online store for this place was up and running already. With the lack of foot traffic, she had all the time in the world to browse the coconut oil, try any of about a thousand contacts to see if she could find someone, anyone, that she and El knew, and think about a plan.

Magical island, with magical portals and magical people. And Ember knew about it, or he wouldn’t have zapped her here. So. . . there had to be a portal to Fillory somewhere, right? She sank into her chair. “This’d be easier if I could find a copy of Fillory and Further anywhere in this town,” she muttered. Or Q, in a pinch.

Seivarden guessed she couldn't really blame Gladio for tying her up and locking her in a closet last week, since he had been an angry kid, but she was still in a bad mood about it.

Tonight's Special
Mimosa

At least that was easy. She wasn't particularly inspired.
