Even after spending her morning with one of December's biggest meta for Scrooges, Astrid still couldn't feel terribly pessimistic about the whole thing. Maybe she was just used to it by now, but, as someone who also never really celebrated Christmas but had always sort of wanted to and had her attempts to spread holiday cheer to her mother literally tossed into the trash on several occasions, she sort of loved it all. Well, most of it. Stuff like the little puffballs of powered sugar were adorable, and their babbling reminded her of Sir Foomy, who always had a special place in her heart as being the only person other than Sabine she really talked to for a long time after getting back from her time back in California, and she was more than happy to let several of them into the store to run around and be adorable.

Apu, on the other hand, was not quite so pleased.

"It's all going to disappear tomorrow," she reminded him as he grumbled about sweeping up all that sugar they left behind again, "why don't you just leave it? I don't think anyone will care."

And he gave her that all-too-familiar withering look that seemed to suggest that this....this was why you were the worst, Astrid, even worse than Shunsui, and he went back to sweeping and trying to ignore her and all the sugar puffs, and grumble about the poor timing that led him to not even wanting to celebrate Let's Hug Day this year.

There were trails of powdered sugar all over the warehouse when Rey got in. Having seen the puffballs on the way in, Rey knew where it was from, but the interesting thing was that the trail led to where the woodchucks usually hung out, and she was pretty sure they'd made friends. Which was adorable.

Except that she was wondering whether she should be sweeping the floor from powdered sugar or not. Probably not when the puffballs were right here?

Hannibal was opening his office today.

He was not, however, opening the doors. There was a large but tasteful sign on the outer one that said Wipe your feet. There were towels in the vestibule, too. He was going to do anything he could to keep the powdered sugar out of the place.

To that end, the cats were still in the house. Joni could not be trusted, and Beethoven had taken one look at the puffballs and headed back inside to a tall shelf.

Hannibal would just play solitaire and shop for presents in between clients.
