There was really something about a weekend like last weekend to really solidify it for Prompto that this was the real deal. Well, he supposed a more annoying or troublesome event would have really sealed the deal, but, especially knowing now that things were cool between him and Hellboy, he almost....almost...could have been totally immersed in the fact that this was his new reality, for real.
The one hitch, of course, being when Goose asked about Ignis, which served as a sharp reminder of....everything else. Not that he could really blame the guy. Especially since it hadn't been nearly as long for him as it had for him. And Prompto really wished he could have had a better answer for him, but him asking definitely meant that the firm knot of worry and dread and guilt for what he was leaving behind this time remained heavy in his stomach.
But he couldn't dwell on all of that, could he? He had to focus on what was here, what was now, and the future ahead of him. Getting used to just a...normal life. And while it was nice that he could just slip easily right into his old spot here at the Photo Hut, he knew it wasn't enough. It was nice, that Broom had this all set up for Liz to support her, but he didn't want to have to rely on that. Call him old-fashioned, but he was the one who really needed to step it up and start providing in that respect. So the Photo Hut definitely wasn't going to cut it. He could start teaching again in the spring, though, that was an idea, and he could start working on making extra money with stock photography and maybe looking for jobs along that line. After all, before he met Noct, he did want to be a professional photographer, and so now that his other skills of daemon hunting and crown protecting were pretty obsolete, maybe it was time...
So as he reacquainted himself with his work here, he tried to think of some other things that he might be good at doing to pick up and start doing, all the while trying to think of what he might be hungry for to make for dinner with Liz later. Stuff so mundane and almost downright boring, if you got down to it, but, gods, was it nice right now...
He was also telling himself repeatedly that it was fine to let Liz take care of moving all her stuff from Dr. Lecter's by herself, because none of it would be too heavy, and it would be good for her, actually, since the doctor said some light exercise was important, too, but, man, once she got things past that threshold into the general vicinity of the apartment, all bets were off, and the only way she was going to carrying any of that stuff upstairs was if she carried it while he carried her, if he could help it!
