Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Steven was on time and busy at work. Though unlike prior weeks this was not the busyness that came from trying to distract himself. Yes, it wasn't yet a full week out from things he'd rather not have weighing on him. But enough time had passed and enough pleasant things had happened in the midst of it all that Steven wasn't in a bad place as far as his mood or thoughts went.

Instead he was working because he'd been inspired by his recent visit to another museum. There was nothing like seeing how other places did things to get ideas for what could and couldn't work at your own museum. As such, Steven was writing up ideas for new placards and signs to help guide visitors from one exhibit to the next.

As always, he was interruptible though.

Pixie Dust; Thursday [03/16].

Boc had really made himself surprisingly comfortable, here in the store, especially since the employees didn't seem to mind, or, at the very least, they had not been driven to chase him out yet. So that was nice! And thanks to helping Nell with clearing out all those extra scones and jams she'd brought for him last week, he didn't even need to worry about venturing out to find food! That might change, soon; he'd tried to make them last as long as he could, but they were dwindling quite a bit. Good thing he didn't really need much, eh? Add to the fact that he actually had an alteration to make, on those trousers that Nell had brought in, and he'd been rather comfy in a rare little bubble of having something to do and something in his stomach and no one beating him up or kicking him around.

If he wasn't carefully, he could get used to something like this!

(Which would, of course, be exactly the moment they would kick him out, he reckoned).

He'd spent a lot of the last week practicing, actually, because while he knew he was a decent hand at his sewing, he also knew he was no where near as good as his dear old mum had been, and he didn't want to mess up Nell's pants, especially since she'd been so kind and generous. Fine way to pay her back for all of that goodwill, going and messing up her trousers like that! But he had finally gained enough confidence to give it a go, and was just finishing up on them today, actually, and feeling rather proud of his work.

He liked to think his mum would be proud, as well. He could only hope that Nell would be, too. Or at least not disgusted and horrified by what he'd done to her poor pants.

Annie, feeling much less queasy than yesterday but still not great -- because this was her life now -- came in with a song stuck in her head.

"Do you know this song? It's Foo Fighters," she asked Tiny as they were setting up, and she da-da-da'd a few bars.

Tiny ventured a rumbled guess, and Annie shook her head. "No, Foo Fighters," she corrected, and da-da-da'd the melody again. "Not Kings of Leon. Older band."

Tiny grumbled something that sounded like another guess.

"No, dude, it's not nearly like, weed-smokey enough to be the Chili Peppers. I'm telling you, it's Foo Fighters."

It turned out to be Stone Temple Pilots, actually, which was the problem with all these bands, if you asked Annie.

And with that last one in play, Annie was actually enjoying a little dish of vanilla ice cream during her shift, rather than her usual beer. Just because ice cream was great, okay?

The Magpie Emporium, Thursday (3/16)

The plushies were in a different configuration than they had been yesterday, but they still seemed to be locked in the same fuzzy adorable struggle that they'd been in all week.

Steph was trying not to worry about it too much, and kept herself occupied with putting together a dramatic duel themed display for a new game that had just come in. This one looked like it was going to be a lot of fun to play, and she was pretty excited about it.

The Photo Hut - Thursday

Liz was feeling a little apprehensive about going back to work, she knew she could have given it another week or so but she wanted to start easing back into working and try working one morning a week to start with. She was also a little tired, so she was trying to take it easy for her first shift back since she was only going to work a few hours that morning and then she could head back upstairs for the rest of the day.

She was trying to stay focused on her work, at least trying to get started on the finance report but her thoughts did keep drifting upstairs so she wasn’t making much progress but it was a start at least.

Trooper Station, Friday

The raccoon with the briefcase was back. No, he didn't have any clients currently in the lockup, but he was going around the station, gathering statements from the Troopers.

Apparently they were character witnesses in a discrimination lawsuit involving the crab from the clinic.

This island, seriously.

Anyway, the Trooper Station was open.
